Overview

A working equestrian farm within a private nature reserve setting, Tamodi Lodge is a scenic drive from the sought-after seaside enclave of Plettenberg Bay, giving its guests truly the best of both worlds on the Garden Route. Tamodi offers you peace and tranquillity with panoramic mountain views; Plettenberg Bay delivers the sun, sea and surf as well as a long list of family, adventure and sporting activities including golf, seasonal whale watching, oyster shucking and wine tasting.

There are only a few luxurious suites available at Tamodi Lodge, each designed around a grand main house with a swimming pool. They have unspoilt views and are very well-appointed with everything from walk-in closets to Wi-Fi. The lodge is a honeymoon favourite and perfect for discerning couples though it may also be booked in its entirety, giving families and groups of friends a private retreat at the green heart of the Garden Route.

There is a guided hiking trail and two bird-watching decks on the farm; mountain biking is on offer close by and the fabulous Keurbooms beaches are only a very short drive away, giving you classic white sand beaches and warm Indian Ocean water with often barely another person in sight.

Rooms

Honeymoon Suite

There are two Honeymoon Suites at the lodge – one in the main house and the other a separate cottage. They are both very spacious and have walk-in closets, under-floor heating and air conditioning plus Wi-Fi Internet connectivity, bar fridges, Nespresso machines, and full en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers.

The LUX Honeymoon Suites aim to raise the bar for romantic accommodation on the Garden Route. Including a private plunge pool each, these uber-suites are both housed in one building, each leading off a central lounge and patio but have been designed for complete privacy.

Standard Suite

Tamodi Lodge has two Standard Suites, both luxuriously appointed with under-floor heating, satellite television, Wi-Fi Internet access and balconies that overlook the rugged lines of the Tsitsikamma mountains and a beautiful indigenous forest valley. Each suite has a private bathroom with bathtub and shower and, like all suites at the lodge, comes with a king-sized bed.

Facilities

The main house at Tamodi Lodge has two spacious lounges plus a reading room to relax and socialise in. There are large fireplaces to keep things snug in winter but in summertime guests are more likely to be found at the swimming pool and on the sundeck. There is Wi-Fi throughout the property, a television room with a bar as well as plenty of secure parking for self-drivers’ rental cars.

Dining

A full English or continental breakfast is included at Tamodi Lodge, served communally on the main deck with fine views. Tamodi is a short drive to the popular restaurants at Keurbooms Beach for lunch, and there is a long list of restaurants, bars and coffee shops at Plettenberg Bay, a 20-minute drive away, for dinner.

Beautiful location, superb scenery and Honeymoon Suite was huge and in secluded spot with outside shower. Enjoyed our stay there, the breakfast starts a bit late and we were planning to start early so did not have it. We went to Enrico's Restaurant ( down the road) for dinner on one night - absolutely marvelous!
