Special Touches & Highlights
Villa Olivier is a well-appointed Camps Bay villa with five bedrooms scattered over three levels and showcasing mountain and Indian Ocean views. It is designed and furnished for independent-minded, flexible and adventurous travellers who are looking for luxurious self-catering accommodation but with the advantages of both regular housekeeping and concierge services. There is Wi-Fi access throughout the property.
Style & Decor
Villa Olivier is a contemporary accommodation with an open-plan design. Natural light floods its three levels, and the interior decor is sleek, modern and clean-lined with ethnic art works providing an interesting contrast. Shades of white and grey dominate the interior with sliding doors pulling back to reveal wooden sundecks and even a lush garden, complete with covered putting green!
Neigbourhood
Villa Olivier is located in a quiet Camps Bay street, halfway up the foothills of the Twelve Apostles mountain range and commanding excellent views of both the mountains and ocean. It is short or drive walk to the beachfront where you will find shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket. Cape Town’s top attractions – Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, the city centre and the fashionable de Waterkant district - are all an easy drive away.
Suitability
Multi-generational families as well as groups of friends will find Villa Olivier much to their liking. It sleeps up to 10 guests and has ample scope for entertainment both inside and outside, thanks to its generous range of facilities. The fully equipped kitchen makes it ideal for those who want self-catering independence and flexibility. Secure off-street parking for two cars also means it is a good choice for self-drivers.
There are two flights of stairs, an unfenced pool and elevated decking to be borne in mind if your party has young children or mobility impaired guests.
Best time to visit
Cape Town is a year-round destination but Camps Bay is perhaps at its finest over the long summer months from November to April when dry and sunny weather dominates. Summer in Cape Town is, of course, at its most exciting and eventful over December and into early January during the South African school holidays - visitor numbers to the city and to Camps Bay in particular are very high and traffic is heavy.
Special Notes
The fifth bedroom at Villa Olivier is suited to an au pair, nanny or teenager. Located on the ground floor of the main house, it is air conditioned and has an en suite bathroom but is not of the same luxuriousness as the rest of the bedrooms.
Note too that Villa Olivier has regular garden and pool maintenance services that come in on late mornings at weekends and cannot be rescheduled.
