Overview of Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge

Situated on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment and offering panoramic views of Lake Manyara, Lake Manyara Serena is an authentic African-styled safari lodge. Ideal for families who want to enjoy both the wildlife and the tranquillity of the region, Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge offers a truly magnificent safari escape in traditional ‘rondavel’ cottages perched along the edge of the cliff. The area is home to a variety of wildlife, most notable of which are the famed tree-climbing lions, as well as an astounding variety of bird species. Head out on game drives with your trained guide to experience this wilderness.

Forest walks, mountain biking and canoeing will keep the more adventurous busy while a visit to the local village will intrigue those interested in culture. After walking through the village and meeting the locals, you’ll stop at a clearing amongst the banana plantations for a delicious lunch. The lodge can accommodate children of all ages and offers board games, sports and educational activities, as well as game drives, to ensure the whole family is entertained. You can also request a baby sitter at any time of day if you feel like enjoying quiet time or a romantic dinner in the bush.

Lake Manyara Serena – gorgeous location, rooms, setting! Great entertainment by the pool before dinner, and at dinner when we asked if there was any local cuisine our waiter brought the chef to speak with us and he cooked us an amazing green banana stew with sides – fantastic!! Only disappointment was that due to our arrival time (around 6pm) and leaving the next day, we didn’t get time to go in the swimming pool (as it closed at the time we arrived). The pool has such a gorgeous view we really wanted to have a swim and were disappointed that we didn’t get the opportunity.

Lake Manyara Serena Lodge – After Arusha Coffee Lodge we were picked up to go to another Safari in Lake Manyara, which was another awesome experience. Then we had lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. The food was pretty good and the view was amazing! Definitely some awesome photo ops! The property was really nice as well. But again that view!

The restaurant was super as was the food and the pool setting and the views over the Rift valley were magnificent. The staff were really friendly and very professional.

Then onto Lake Manyara – Serena on the side of the Rift Escarpment and overlooking the lake and the National Park. Afternoon game drive partly in different vegetation found some different animals and those we knew in a different environment not that you could get sick of them anyway – at least I don’t think I could. Night drive that night. Brilliant with an armed Park ranger just incase. Was a different way to see wildlife and how they are after dark. Just going ou in the open jeep was an experience. Don’t kow how spotter found what he did – but was all good and we enjoyed our last night on safari by finishing with that.

The welcome from Felix at Lake Manyara was a lovely touch – a warm and friendly man who showed us personally to the Suite and made us welcome at every meal. The staff were very attentive. What amazing views and an indescribably beautiful pool.

We also loved the accomodations. They were beautiful, both the lodges themselves and the locations. Thank you for all your assistance in putting our Eastern African safari together. You did an excellent job of planning a spectacular itinerary. Someone told me “Africa gets in your blood”, and its true. I hope to return again someday.
