Overview of Lukimbi Safari Lodge

Lukimbi Safari Lodge is surrounded by over 15 000 hectares of exclusive wilderness in the southern sector of the Kruger National Park. Lukimbi has achieved sophisticated African-styled interiors in keeping with the romance of the bush: wooden decks link the lodge’s main buildings together on the banks of the Lwakahle River.

The emphasis at Lukimbi is on the wildlife experience, and the trained rangers freely share their bush and game knowledge on daily drives, walks and presentations. A popular destination for honeymooners and families alike, the lodge caters for a range of preferences – whether you are seeking spa treatments or an active holiday engaged in golf, game drives or guided walks.

Lukimbi was great and the service was excellent. Just the overall attention to detail far exceeded our expectations and we definitely felt we got what we paid for. All the people there were fantastic and helpful. The rooms were awesome and we couldn’t ask for better views from our rooms. Even the set up was very unique and I loved the standalone units and raised walkways. It provided for a more private, yet open experience to the wildlife. The food was top notch and we were amazed at what the chef and staff were able to do given the location. Their concession seemed quite large and it appeared we barely even got to see all of it during our stay there. The open game drive vehicles made for a great experience when going out to see the animals and added to the experience. The car transfers you arranged were on time and the car was extremely comfortable. The flights were also on time and very convenient. Everything was fantastic and the overall experience was great.

Lukimbi Lodge deserves special mention. The hosts were most gracious and the rooms comfortable. Some of the foods viz. Ostrich, Impala, Kudu and Hog steaks that I had never tasted before were delicious. The mealtimes were alway happy occasions with friendly staff at hand to explain recipes and mode of cooking. The field trips into the National Park were full of mystery and suspense as you never knew what animal to expect round the next corner. The Ranger and the Guide were knowledgable of their terrain and the behaviour of the animals. Their guidance gave us a lot of confidence in observing wildlife at sometimes very close range. We managed to see the Super Seven of wildlife at Kruger.

We had a fabulous time in South Africa. Lukimbe was lovely. All the staff were very friendly and our rangers and trackers were superb, very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. We saw lots of animals including numerous leopards and cheetah and took some great photos.

Lukimbi Safari Lodge was wonderful; just the best. Wonderful staff, wonderful accommodations, food, animals, activities, etc.
We felt we saw plenty of wildlife given our three days there. Our guide and tracker were both very friendly and knowledgeable. We took the morning and evening game drives, and also the walking safari in the afternoon and enjoyed each one immensely.
Our rooms/chalets were very nice with stylish decor and wonderful views of the bush. There’s truly nothing quite like waking up to the sound of a lion’s roar. The cuisine was excellently (and frequently!) prepared, and there were always choices for members of our party who did not wish to have game meat. We had excellent South African wines and even took pictures in the large wine cellar. One night there, they served dinner outside in the boma, complete with a fire to warm us, white tablecloths, and beautiful presentation of the food. Again, the staff and management were so warm and friendly, they truly made you feel like family. We were very sad to leave, and I would definitely recommend without hesitation
