Overview of Taasa Lodge

Journey to the northern edge of the Serengeti National Park for an exceptional safari experience that seamlessly combines tradition and luxury. Sweeping views of the Lobo Valley, unparalleled service, and stylish accommodation await.

Taasa Lodge is an intimate camp featuring a select number of luxury tents adorning the property. Each spacious en-suite tent enjoys indulgent furnishings with uniquely African accents. Large windows allow ample natural light and a front-row seat to the nature and wildlife around you. A private verandah provides a picturesque spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy a morning coffee or simply overlook the Lobo Valley.

The lodge itself offers incredibly scenic boma dinners under a carpet of stars and evenings spent around a roaring fire, sharing stories. Expect sensational wildlife viewing with 24-hour off-road safari opportunities, up-close wildlife encounters, and authentic Masaai cultural experiences. Between June and November, the enthralling Great Migration takes place, a gauntlet run by one and a half million wildebeests, several hundred thousand zebra and gazelles, as well as a few thousand elands.

When you’re not enjoying game drives, take advantage of the infinity swimming pool, indoor and outdoor lounge, and a large viewing deck – perfect for a slow afternoon. Alternatively, continue your wild adventure by embarking on a guided walking safari, witness the vast expanse of the Serengeti from a hot air balloon, or visit the local Maasai village.

    General Facilities

Tasteful decorations and thoughtful design come together to create an exquisite space overlooking Tanzania’s Lobo Valley. The main lodge offers a spacious dining room where most meals are enjoyed, as well as a large lounge area featuring an indoor fireplace. The outdoor patio, infinity pool, and lounge chairs offer a welcoming space for relaxation, reading, or communing with other likeminded guests. In the evening, the firepit creates a central gathering place.

Unlimited Wi-Fi is available throughout, but we recommend you take time to truly connect to your surroundings. An on-site curio (gift store) offers traditional, authentic Maasai items created in the small local village of Ololosokwan.

    Dining

As the sun starts to set, order a cocktail, and witness the changing wildlife as the day turns to night. Dine al fresco on the main terrace or venture out for a starlit dining experience on the hill above the property – enjoy an exquisite African sunset and the transition to a star-filled sky. A roaring bonfire promises to keep you warm well into the evening.

Prior to your evening meal, indulge in an aperitif and hors d’oeuvres before settling down for dinner. Should you wish, opt for dinner on your private deck on request.

Taasa Lodge is ideally located in the Northeast of the Serengeti National Park, on the path the famous wildebeest migration takes when making their journey back to the Serengeti from the Masai Mara. It is one of the few Northern Serengeti lodges located on a private wildlife management area, away from the crowd. This also gives guests the rare opportunity to go on game drives, walking safaris, night game drives - as well as to drive off-road - and a fascinating insight into the culture of the local Maasai tribesmen and women.

Taasa Lodge is a gem. We’ve traveled the world over and haven’t received the level of service that they showed us at Taasa. We absolutely loved the property & staff and will definitely be recommending friends book Taasa with Go2Africa.

Taasa Lodge is great. Constant hot water and great food, guides and staff. Enjoyed the Masai village trip and school. Being in a private concession made it even better, since we saw very few if any other vehicles in the bush. Being able to leave the “road” was a definite plus.
