Tortillis camp was great – we really enjoyed the private family house. The two bedrooms were secured well for mosquitos and they provided a pack & play with a mosquito net for my 5-month old! The food was very good. The guide was very knowledgable, helpful and everything we could have hoped for. At this time of year the game was not very plentiful but the landscape and Kilimanjaro particularly was overwhelming. We really wanted to see Kilimanjaro and this was a great backdrop. I wasn’t too keen on going on the Masai Village tour but that was a highlight! So glad we did it. Two nights was perfect, as you suggested.

Tortillis Camp – Could not fault in any way. Kilimanjaro was in full view for the 2 days,and had a wonderfull sundowner on a hill with a full 360 of the plains below.Elephants by the 100s

Yes, we are back. In one word, the vacation was “fabulous”, one of the best vacations we ever had.
Start with lodging – they are very nice, particularly Tortillis Camp. We did not have any problem staying in camps.
Food at Tortillis camp was superb. The chef there especially took extra care to make sure my wife gets vegan meal and I get nice vegetarian meal.

Game drives were all excellent and exciting. The drivers in both the camps are very knowledgeable and made all the best efforts to make sure we see as many animals as possible.

In regards to accommodation, I cannot fault Tortilis. It was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend this camp. Management, staff, accommodation, activities, organisation, food were all absolutely wonderful. Every guest that I talked to while there shared the same opinion and if anything really stood out amongst all the many great things was the food. The food at this camp was super.

Your choices for accommodation were all exceptional and different as promised. The standout accommodation I thought was at Serena Lake Elementiata (very high quality) but the overall service, food, and guiding etc was best in my opinion at Tortilis. We appear to have been extremely lucky talking to other tourists. On our first day in the Crater we saw two separate lion after kills, a significant number of different animals including a serval cat which got the guide quite excited.

Wonderful people in the camps, the camps showed the different parts of the area and terrain. I was a little nervous going by myself but everyone was watching out for me. The managers at the camps were lovely to me and made sure I had everything I needed. Food was outstanding!!!!
