Overview of Little Vumbura Camp
This intimate camp of just six tents is located on a forested island amid the sky-blue waterways in the northern reaches of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. The focus of this exclusive camp is water-based activities, with ample opportunities for guests to explore open woodlands and floodplains on 4×4 game drives. Shaded by the canopy of an ancient Delta forest and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, this lush area is renowned for its large populations of sable antelope and buffalo as well as predators, like leopard, lion and graceful African wild dogs. Little Vumbura is ideal for those seeking a more intimate and personalised safari experience.
Arriving by boat, you are immediately made to feel welcome and an integral part of the close-knit safari family. After lunch at the alfresco dining area with breathtaking views of the Delta, hop into a mokoro (dug-out canoe) for your first introduction to self-navigation of the Delta’s reed-lined waterways to spot sable antelope and tiny marbled reed frogs.
With your knowledgeable guide again leading the way you take a walk on a nearby island and discover the unique ecology of the floodplains. Litle Vumbura also offers a hot-air balloon safari at an additional cost allowing you to experience the Delta’s landscapes from above.

General Facilities
The main area of Little Vumbura is divided into four smaller parts. The open-sided lounge area – decorated in soft blue hues and incorporating an old, hollow termite mound – is ideal for relaxing with a book. Brush up on your species identification and turn the tables on your guide when you are next out on a game drive.
Adjacent to the dining area is a small bar and a boma area for evening convivial campfires. On the opposite side is a raised lounge area with a small walkway leading to a private sala extension where you can enjoy intimate dinners away from the other guests.
The cerulean swimming pool overlooks the water surrounding the island, which is filled with snorting hippos, pastel-pink water lilies and thirsty animals coming to drink.
The Bush Buddy programme will suit pre-teens and teenagers – a trained member of staff will lead them in safe but exciting safari activities like guided nature walks, traditional basket weaving, animal tracking and call identification.
