    What a wonderful place. Tucked away but easy to find. The short steps from parked car, through reception area and onto the balcony open up one of the finest views we’ve ever enjoyed. Over the 3-4 days of our stay, we never came close to tiring of that vista or of the comfort afforded by the hotel.
    I was concerned pre-arrival , having learned that not all rooms boast the full panoramic view, that we would be disappointed by the room. Not so. It was lovely, with a good partial view of sea and mountains, and with a nice simple terrace and shared pool.
    The interaction with staff was excellent: friendly but not overbearingly chummy, very responsive and good service on request, thoroughly professional but not slick. Restaurant bookings were handled very well, and the driver service (eg to Kalk Bay and back) was faultless. Hayley and Jenny and their colleagues run a fine place and run it very, very well.
    Only one flaw – I found my back sore after each of the first two nights’ sleep; the mattress seemed to have sunk somewhat. This was turned at our request and the problems ceased.
    Locally, the range of restaurants proved very good – we tried The Pickled Fish and Harbour House / Live Bait for one night each. The deli at Food Barn in Noordhoek was a good stop for lunch on arrival and our room was made ready ahead of time.
    We were really sorry to leave Long Beach and wished we had booked a longer stay. A perfect place to drop into and chill at on arrival from a long flight.
