Located on a ridge overlooking Chyulu Hills and the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro, Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge offers an ideal base from which to explore the Kenyan wilderness. The lodge has been built from volcanic stone and blends in perfectly with its rugged landscape. Kilaguni Serena is ideal for families, and offers a child-friendly environment with kiddies’ activities, special menus and a baby-sitting service. Kilaguni is the first lodge to be built in a Kenyan National Park, placing it in a prime wildlife viewing position.
With a waterhole only 100m away, you’ll be able to spot elephant, buffalo and many other plains game from the comfort of the restaurant and viewing deck. Enjoy a range of exciting excursions in the park, like game drives, guided walks, bird watching and volcanic climbs. A trip to the Mzima Springs, a set of crystal clear ponds of melt water from Mount Kilimanjaro, is also a memorable activity as is a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary.

Standard Room
Rooms at Kilaguni are spacious, comfortable and offer all the amenities expected from a modern safari lodge. Built from volcanic stone and decorated in neutral tones, rooms enjoy views of either the waterhole or the Chyulu Hills – one of the world’s youngest volcanic ranges.Each standard room is tastefully decorated and surrounded by tranquil gardens. Fitted with either a king-sized bed or two twins, the room offers enough space for an added bed or cot for a small child. The en-suite bathroom opens onto a private veranda and features a walk-in shower. You’ll also find a writing desk, mosquito nets and Wi-Fi to make your stay truly comfortable.
General Facilities
The swimming pool and sundeck are surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, offering a cool place to relax during the warm afternoon. There is also a smaller children’s pool with a fun water slide.
After a morning of game drives and nature walks, you can return to the lodge for a range of relaxing beauty treatments, like massages, facials, pedicures and manicures.
Relax in the library, browsing through the collection of Africana books, or play one of the many board games with your family. The open-air, rock-built bar overlooks the waterhole and features comfortable day beds with glorious views of the Chyulu Hills.

The central dining area at Kilaguni has a thatched roof and is open to one side, providing a cool breeze and views over the waterhole. Before sitting down to a delicious meal, you can enjoy a drink on the viewing deck – the ideal place from which to look out at the wildlife that congregates at the waterhole.
Breakfasts and lunches are served buffet-style and feature a range of international favourites, with vegetarian options as well as children’s menus. Dinner-time is truly special as you’ll dine on cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. The African-themed nights also promise a memorable experience as you’ll have the chance to tuck into traditional meals.
For a special dining experience, you can enjoy your meals or sundowners at one of the dedicated, scenic spots around the reserve, each offering beautiful panoramic views of the wilderness.
