Leisure Isle Lodge

The Leisure Isle Lodge in Knysna also deserved its 4-stars rating. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel restaurant was very good. The building itself was slightly older but the rooms were OK. The location and the view were very good.

We were upgraded to the penthouse at Leisure Isle Lodge, which was fantastic. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Delicious food!

The hotel in Knysna was beautiful. I think we were the only guests under the age of 50, so it was a naturally quiet atmosphere. We loved being able to go for a run on the island.

We stayed adjacent to a lagoon in Knysna for 2 days. There were activities such as paddle boarding / kayaking (if that took your fancy). However, My wife and I just relaxed for the duration. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were very luxurious and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.

It was such a shame that the weather turned horrible during our stay in Knysna because with a bit of sun I reckon this place might have been my favourite location.
Hotel was gorgeous. Staff were superb. Hard to fault. My other half loved two member of staff at this place called Chris and Innocent. I loved staying on Leisure Isle and I would go back here. On the day we arrived I went for run around the isle and felt so relaxed and chilled-out there. Oh to own one those holiday homes there…. 🙂 Dinner there was brilliant too. On the second night we decided to eat out at a recommend restaurant (Sirocco) and we both agreed that the hotel food was head-and-shoulders above (not that Sirocco was bad…)

The service and friendliness of everyone at all of our locations was beyond compare. The accommodations were the shining stars of this trip. At the Leisure Isle Lodge we were upgraded to the penthouse. What a treat!

Upgraded to the Penthouse Suite – more champagne as well as fruit and chocs. Staff all really friendly. Ate at restaurant – it was good. We loved Knysna and could easily live there if we lived in SA.

The Leisure Isle Lodge was also wonderful: we enjoyed the setting, the breakfasts and dinners and the very nice upgraded room that we received!

Leisure Isle is a lovely property.

This place was wondeful, even our room was upgrated to better, bigger room over looking the lake with fantastic scenery. The crew as usual is very friendly & helpful , the food was also great , also would love to be there again

Leisure Isle Lodge in Knysna – such a beautiful, well-designed guesthouse, the staff are all welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. On arrival we found that our Junior Garden Facing Suite had been upgraded to a Superior Sea Facing Suite, which was gorgeous, and fantastically comfortable. The managers take time to chat to all the guests, offer suggestions for outings and restaurants, make bookings for activities and provide transport to and from town in the evenings. Not surprised they win so many awards, and the restaurant is fab too!

Our accommodations at Leisure Isle Lodge were extremely nice because we got upgraded to a very nice suite overlooking the Knysna Bay and the Heads. The service there was outstanding from the front desk to the housekeepers to the restaurant staff. We felt very welcome and special. While staying in Knysna we visited the Heads and had several good meals. We also visited Monkey Land and Tenikwa (the Cheetah place).

All I can say is WOW, what a gorgeous place. The decor, colours and layout of the lodge make you feel instantly relaxed. We were met by very helpful, friendly staff who helped us book all our activities for the duration of our stay. The rooms where spacious and very comfortably decorated with a view over the lagoon. Breakfasts where lovely with the Chef adding her own special dish for each day. We ate at Daniela’s restaurant at the lodge one night and had a fantastic meal. Highly recommended! All in all it was a fantastic trip and I will be recommending the Leisure Isle lodge to any one travelling to the area.

What a delightful place, warm welcome from Barbara Cook and team [not the owner but did an excellent job of looking after the guests] whole place spotless, the food here was excellent amongst the best we had and friendliest staff, housekeeping was top class.

Leisure Island Lodge had superb food AND it was directly across the lagoon from our friends house so it was the perfect location for us. Thank you for planning a perfect trip , thank you for all of your selections and planning. It all worked out very well.

At Leisure Isle Lodge we were upgraded from a garden room to their “penthouse” suite so we had a couple of enormous rooms overlooking the lagoon.

The accommodations on Leisure Isle were very nice – we enjoyed the hotel and went to the heads, hiked in the national forest and had a fantastic meal at Firefly.
