Luxurious Cape, Wine, Whales & Garden Route
Take the entire family on a hugely rewarding journey through South Africa’s famously beautiful Western Cape and enjoy one amazing destination after another as you explore Cape Town, the Cape Winelands, the Whale Coast and the ever-popular Garden Route before ending off with a big game safari. Hike or take the cable car up Table Mountain or play on the city’s beautiful beaches before spending a few days in glorious Franschhoek where you can marvel at the mountainous scenery and enjoy exquisite local wines.
Then it is time to discover the region’s incredible flora with a stay in Grootbos. The kids will love searching for interesting bugs and going on nature walks while in season you can drive along the coast spotting whales and dolphins. Wind your way along the beautiful Garden Route and enjoy great beaches and adventure activities in Plettenberg Bay before heading off to the malaria-free Kwandwe Private Reserve in the Eastern Cape for two days of exclusive Big 5 game viewing.
When you book this safari Go2Africa will plant a tree in the Western Cape's Uilenkraal Valley, in partnership with Greenpop.
The Cape Cadogan Hotel in Cape Town has got to be one of the best hotels ever, and the restaurant next door was also superb.
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport, collect your rental car and drive to The Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, located near the ever-popular V&A Waterfront. Alternatively, we can arrange to transfer you to the hotel and have your car delivered there.
Spend your days exploring all that Cape Town has to offer. Hike or take a cable car up iconic Table Mountain to gaze over the city’s incredible setting or take a boat trip to visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was jailed during the struggle.
Laze around on one of Cape Town’s classic city beaches such as Camps Bay and Clifton or take a drive north to Blouberg Beach for postcard-perfect views of Table Mountain and the city. You could also explore the vibrant street of the city centre with its many coffee shops, cafes, markets and local shops.
There are also many activities to interest children such as watching baboons and ostriches at Cape Point or waddling with penguins at Boulders Beach. Kids can also enjoy a treasure hunt in the Company’s Gardens, organised by the Iziko Museum, or they can be let loose at the V&A Waterfront’s Two Oceans Aquarium.

The Cape Cadogan Hotel in Cape Town has got to be one of the best hotels ever, and the restaurant next door was also superb.
Gorgeous surroundings with accommodation to match. The house and grounds offer a relaxing and peaceful stay. It should be noted that all dining experiences will be communal but seeing as it is booked per room, if you're not comfortable dining at a table surrounded by people you don't know that may put a damper on your experience. However, the staff seems to be quite helpful and willing to make alternative arrangements if requested upon arrival. Overall, I believe it to be an incredibly charming place.
Leave the city behind today as you drive to the scenic Cape Winelands and your boutique hotel in Franschhoek, the gourmet capital of South Africa. Stay in the Le Clé Lodge for the following two days in elegantly furnished rooms amongst the vineyards and beautiful gardens.
There is plenty to keep the little ones entertained. Take them to the toy museum, where young and old alike will be intrigued, or go on a tour of Le Bonheur Crocodile Farm.
If you prefer some quiet time, go to a wine-tasting session (or several!) at one of Franschhoek’s many elegant wine farms and enjoy the delicious food that this scenic region is famous for.
Explore the beautiful town on foot to admire the distinct Cape Dutch architecture, visit notable historical buildings, and for a sweet treat, pop into Huguenot Fine Chocolates for an irresistible chocolate tasting!

Truly one of the most unique spaces I've ever encountered in the Western Cape. The perfect balance between bush & beach, Grootbos embodies everything there is to love about being surrounded by nature. Enjoy views of the many indigenous fynbos fields with the added element of having the occasional crisp, ocean breeze drift past from nearby Walker Bay.
Today you will make your way to the stunning Whale Coast and the blue waters of Walker Bay, situated just outside the seaside town of Hermanus. Make your way to the Grootbos Forest Lodge where you will be spending the following two days immersed in a natural green wonderland.
Grootbos offers activities that will keep the whole family entertained: visit the lodge’s stables and feed the horses, chickens and rabbits; children will also love the bug-collecting sessions at Grootbos as they scour the gardens around the lodge for interesting, many-legged creatures. Babysitters are available for parents who would like to go on a nature walk to learn about the astonishing flora of the region or who simply want to enjoy a quiet dinner after a long day.

We stayed here for three nights in Feb-2013 with our two sons 4 & 6 and and we had a fantastic stay. Best vacation ever! The wake up call at 05:00 from Ranger Ryan started our days in a perfect way. This place has got it all, lovely room with a small plunge pool and shower outside, delicious food and the staff was very accommodating and service minded. Our guide Ryan and tracker Andy did the game drives to something that we will have in our memories for the rest of our life. Especially the breakfast in the bush, that was amazing!

Drive to the airport in Port Elizabeth to drop off your car and fly back to Cape Town, or alternatively take a drive back to the Mother City via the extraordinarily scenic Route 62. When you arrive in Cape Town, your tour will come to an end.
