Days 1 – 4: Discover Cape Town | 4 Nights

Cape Town, Cape Town Central, South Africa

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport, collect your rental car and drive to The Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, located near the ever-popular V&A Waterfront. Alternatively, we can arrange to transfer you to the hotel and have your car delivered there.

Spend your days exploring all that Cape Town has to offer. Hike or take a cable car up iconic Table Mountain to gaze over the city's incredible setting or take a boat trip to visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was jailed during the struggle.

Laze around on one of Cape Town's classic city beaches such as Camps Bay and Clifton or take a drive north to Blouberg Beach for postcard-perfect views of Table Mountain and the city. You could also explore the vibrant street of the city centre with its many coffee shops, cafes, markets and local shops.

There are also many activities to interest children such as watching baboons and ostriches at Cape Point or waddling with penguins at Boulders Beach. Kids can also enjoy a treasure hunt in the Company's Gardens, organised by the Iziko Museum, or they can be let loose at the V&A Waterfront's Two Oceans Aquarium.

Days 5 – 7: Explore the Cape Winelands | 3 Nights

Cape Winelands, Franschhoek, South Africa

Leave the city behind today as you drive to the scenic Cape Winelands and your boutique hotel in Franschhoek, the gourmet capital of South Africa. Stay in the Le Clé Lodge for the following two days in elegantly furnished rooms amongst the vineyards and beautiful gardens.

There is plenty to keep the little ones entertained. Take them to the toy museum, where young and old alike will be intrigued, or go on a tour of Le Bonheur Crocodile Farm.

If you prefer some quiet time, go to a wine-tasting session (or several!) at one of Franschhoek's many elegant wine farms and enjoy the delicious food that this scenic region is famous for.

Explore the beautiful town on foot to admire the distinct Cape Dutch architecture, visit notable historical buildings, and for a sweet treat, pop into Huguenot Fine Chocolates for an irresistible chocolate tasting!

Days 8 – 9: Ocean Safaris & Luxury | 2 Nights

Whale Coast, South Africa

Today you will make your way to the stunning Whale Coast and the blue waters of Walker Bay, situated just outside the seaside town of Hermanus. Make your way to the Grootbos Forest Lodge where you will be spending the following two days immersed in a natural green wonderland.

Grootbos offers activities that will keep the whole family entertained: visit the lodge's stables and feed the horses, chickens and rabbits; children will also love the bug-collecting sessions at Grootbos as they scour the gardens around the lodge for interesting, many-legged creatures. Babysitters are available for parents who would like to go on a nature walk to learn about the astonishing flora of the region or who simply want to enjoy a quiet dinner after a long day.

Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay, South Africa

Have fun in Plettenberg Bay at the The Plettenberg. A member of The Liz McGrath Collection, it is situated on a rocky headland - the ultimate South African seaside escape. It showcases the most breathtaking vistas in Southern Africa, as well as world-class cuisine at the on-site restaurant.

Enjoy a new range of fun activities over the next three days as you visit Adventure Land and excite your senses with slides for the brave, as well as the not-so-brave. Visit the Wild Waters Fun Park in Plettenberg Bay where your children can splash around and enjoy the waterslides and swimming pools. Return to the Plettenberg for a peaceful evening away from the hustle and bustle of town before you set off for safari tomorrow.

Today you will travel to the Eastern Cape where you will spend two nights in the Kwandwe Ecca Lodge in the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Here the children can go on special hour-long guided nature walks and tracking activities as well as pre-arranged frog safaris.

You and your older children however will go on game drives to spot classic African animals – including the Big 5 in this malaria-free reserve before sitting down to a delicious evening meal. You can even let the kids choose their meals from their own kiddies menu; dishes range from Hippo's Hamburgers and Mongoose's Macaroni to Cheetah's Chicken Nuggets.
