Tuningi Safari Lodge

We especially enjoyed our stay at Tuningi and would love to go back there again. The ranger was excellent and we saw the Big 5 within 2 game drives so that was a great experience for us. The food and the room were both lovely. I am pregnant at the moment and they catered for me very well in regards to food and giving us a bottle of non-alcoholic wine to share one night. The charter flight there was exhilarating. I was a bit nervous as it was such a small plane and the alarms kept going off but the landing was incredible as there was a kudu on the runway so they tipped the plane 90 degrees and flew along the runway twice which was a thrill.

Tuningi Safari Lodge was a great destination, with great staff and facilities.

We are back home and very, very happy with our experience in South Africa !!!! Everything went perfect ! Both accommodations were excellent, especially the Tuningi Lodge… What an experience there! We were very lucky with the weather in both places and we also saw many, many animals during the 6 game drives. The staff at Tuningi were absolutely friendly, kind and professionals. Absolutely nothing to complain or criticize…

A fantastic start to the holiday with the road transport from Johannesburg being long but tolerable and very efficiently managed. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived and the family suite worked perfectly and was in a great location with game walking past to the waterhole in front of the lodge. That waterhole was the best for animal views we have experienced in our 7 years with the highlight being the almost daily visits by elephants. Madiwiki provided excellent game viewing and provided a glimpse of a leopard in the wild and had the best buffalo experience ever. At one point I saw a herd of some 200 animals. We also saw Wild Dogs for the first time.

Tuningi – superb! Everything about it was spot on. They had got the message about our dietary requirements and we were extremely well catered for in that department. The lodge was lovely – very clean and comfortable and the people there, super friendly and welcoming. It was great to be welcomed by a 15 strong herd of elephants at the lodge watering hole and a giraffe outside our chalet on arrival. Lots of lovely little touches to ensure our comfort e.g. hot water bottles provided on the game drive as well as in the bed at night.
Game drives – wowzer! We had superb rangers at both Tuningi and Pumba and feel priviledged to have witnessed some of the animal behaviour we saw as a result of their expertise. Rangers were Christo (Tuningi) and Jean (Pumba).

I simply loved Tuningi and had a real African safari experience while I was there. The staff were friendly and our ranger was very knowledgeable and professional. I loved the fact they offer activities for the kids!

Tuningi. Not without reason this is a five-star lodge! It was fabulous! HIGHLY recommend it to any of your clients. Cristo was our guide while there. We have never met anyone more excited and enthusiastic about what he does! His knowledge of all animals and birds was amazing. No matter what bird we saw, snake or animal, Cristo knew the names even of all the birds and all info on any bird or animal. Truly impressive.

Tuningi, Mala Mala, and Mashatu were absolutely amazing in all aspects. Fantastic service and great game viewing. We did see everything, including wild dogs and black rhinos.

We were really satisfied Tuningi – nice room, very good services, it’s the best in our trip.

Tuningi was special – game viewing excellent with great guide,Christo. Accommodation was first rate and staff and service really good… would go back for sure.

We enjoyed very much the fantastic lodge, extraordinary food, greeting and safaris. We saw the big fives. Just perfect. The flights on small private planes were superb and on time.

We absolutely loved Tuningi. I would have stayed forever if I could! The staff were lovely and they were great with the kids.They both came on game drives with me but a couple of times the staff looked after Molly back at the lodge which was really good. The accommodation and food were outstanding.

Lodge exceeded our expectations! From the lodge deco to the service to the food – simply wonderful!

After the seven nights in Cape Town we flew to Madikwe. This was the most amazing experience for us all and we are totally indebted to you for recommending this. It was just like heaven. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more welcoming, our game driver was great fun and we saw the most amazing animals. We even saw a lion kill – four lions hunting a red hartebeest which we knew was very special because Johan, our game driver was even more excited about it than we were. We were lucky enough to see leopard as well as many other animals including all the Big Five. We even spotted black rhino as well as white rhino.
