Emma Hill

African Safari Expert

*Featured in Condé Nast Traveler as a Top Travel Specialist

My love of travel began with the many family trips I took as a child, the passion growing when I ventured to the US to teach water skiing at a summer camp. After exploring North America, I stopped over in Europe on my way back to South Africa. I fell in love with visiting new destinations and never looked back!

After living in London and working for a travel company there, I returned to Cape Town fully invested in furthering my career in the travel industry. I landed my dream job at Go2Africa, working my way up from a novice to the established Senior East Africa and Southern Africa Safari Expert I am today. I am now in my fourteenth th year with the company, and I’m still as excited to go to work every day as when I first began!

Sundowner of Choice

A glass of MCC (South African champagne) or a local Gin with Fitch & Leedes tonic.

Most Memorable Sighting

While on a mobile camping safari tour in Botswana, we came across wild dogs on the hunt. Managing to keep up with them, we got to witness a shocking but exhilarating scene of the pack taking down a female antelope!

Client Advice

Travelling between certain countries in Africa takes a lot longer than you might think. Include an additional night to acclimatise on arrival.

Expert Tip

Nearly everyone thinks one trip to Africa is more than enough…until they get here. This majestic land has a way of wrapping you around her finger, enticing you back before you’ve even left!

Favourite Client Story

I managed to secure a table at the top restaurant in Cape Town when there were none available – to top it off, it was for a family of six travelling over the Christmas and New Year period!
