I started my journey at Go2Africa in my early 20s. I discovered my love for East Africa and pursued it for a few years. East Africa became my number one focus as I truly wanted to be an expert in destinations such as Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. I then expanded into Botswana, Namibia, and, of course, my home country, South Africa. I love working with multi-generational groups as I know how poignant and incredibly special Africa can be for all generations. Trips with your family allow you to make memories for a lifetime.
I had the great fortune to go on a special agent trip to a brand-new camp called Usangu Expeditions, located in the Usangu Wetlands in Ruaha, Southern Tanzania. As the only female on the vehicle, I was honoured when they named a previously undocumented lioness Emma after me. She has since had cubs and is doing well! It felt surreal to sit around the final campfire, sharing our experiences and knowing I was leaving a little legacy behind to tell my kids about.
I managed to secure a table at the top restaurant in Cape Town when there were none available – to top it off, it was for a family of six travelling over the Christmas and New Year period!
See your trip to Africa as an opportunity to take a step back from being in control and learn to go with the flow. Think of it as ‘handing over the reins’ to us, and all you have to do is show up and enjoy the magic that Africa brings. It is all about the people, enjoying the experience and embracing the vibrant spirit of community, warmth and hospitality that awaits you at each destination.
