This seasonal camp (open April to November) is situated in an exclusive-use area on the eastern border of the Zambezi Valley’s golden child, Mana Pools National Park. Surrounded by a dense forest of mahogany and albida trees with awe-inspiring views of the Zambezi River, its floodplains and the distant mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment, this wildlife-rich trove is a photographer’s paradise.
Enjoy exclusive access to a gorgeous stretch of the Zambezi, the nearby Sapi River, Chikwenya Island and beautiful woodlands on game drives and guided walks. The area is home to large herds of buffalo and elephant, as well as healthy populations of hippo, lion, wild dog, leopard and zebra. Twitchers can tick off sightings like black-throated wattle-eye, red-necked falcon, eastern nicator, red-throated twinspots and Livingstone’s flycatcher.
Chikwenya offers superb luxury in canvas tented suites built on raised wooden walkways and decks from which to enjoy the spectacular scenery and passing wildlife.
