Cape Town – the Kensington Place was undoubtedly undersold, it is a magnificent location and upon arrival we were met with smiles and welcomes from everyone, Austin, the manager had arranged dinner reservations for each night because as he quite righ tly said many tourists don’t know that you need to book in Cape Town to get in – the suggestions were wonderful and again they couldn’t do enough for us…. Of course it was also doubly wonderful to take delivery of the champers and Melissa’s treat box which you had sneakily arranged (which went down a treat for the afternoon snacks!) thank you! Upon your recommendation we tried the eggs benedict, OH MY sweet lordy, they were amazing, I could hop on a plane just for that… the secret is apparently to make the béarnaise sauce fresh for each order!

We had the pleasure of a warm welcome and our gorgeous room at the Kensington Place. I'm not kidding when i say we didn't want to leave. One of the greatest treats was discovering the beautiful book on Africa, a Bird's Eye View was left there for us by you. That was a terrific surprise, we both loved it but as Lynn is a pilot he particularly appreciated seeing Africa from the sky. All the restaurant and tourist suggestions we received from the people at the hotel were spot on. We also thought the food at the Kensington was exceptional and nothing was ever too much trouble. What a lovely introduction that was to South Africa. We had been so pampered at the Kensington Place that the service at La Petit Dolphin didn't quite live up to the high standard set there. I remember that you didn't have anything to do with that particular booking so i only mention it FYI.

We loved our time in South Africa. Kensington Place was a great place to stay. It was accessible to everything and Sascha went above and beyond to help us organize tours and make dinner reservations. In fact, our dinner at The Test Kitchen was the be st meal we had on our trip and one of the best meals we've ever had.

We were so happy we stayed here. The breakfasts were unreal, and they were so accommodating with everything. On our last day we were in a rush and they asked if we wanted coffee to go, and they brought up an entire tray with biscotti and coffee and e verything because they knew we hadn't had breakfast. Really a beautiful wonderful place.

The trip was absolutely wonderful! The properties of Kensington Place, Baines Camp, Chobe Chilwero and Londolozi Tree Camp were absolutely 100% fantastic. We loved our accomodations and would highly recommend these camps / lodges / hotels to others. I can't say enough positive things about the rooms and the staff.

Once again our transfer to Cape Town from Botswana were remarkably smooth. The location of Kensington Place was good and we had some nice views of the downtown area and Table Mountain from our room. The staff was excellent in answering questions and handling our last minute requests for car hires. The hotel arranged reservations for dinner each night of our stay. The included breakfast was excellent - very fresh and very filling.

"This was also great. Loved the style of the hotel, the attention to detail and wonderful breakfast. We were lucky as John Paul is a confident driver. Some couples may prefer to be more central so that they can walk some places."

I'm so happy with your recommendation of Kensington Place. It was an absolutely perfect hotel for us. They setup dinner reservations each night and their choices were all excellent. You were absolutely right, 5 nights was needed to see everythin g. We were sad when it was time to leave.

Kensington Place is fine but we did not get a particularly nice room (small one on third floor-we are too old to climb all those stairs) and I know they were not full when you made reservations - they had several travel agents staying there on comp, I am sure.

The Kensington Place Hotel was lovely. Really quiet which we enjoyed having just made the long flight. All the staff were delightful and the breakfast top class. We really enjoyed our time in Cape Town and the location was very easy for us to get aro und in a taxi from. We did a helicopter sight seeing trip down to the Cape which was fantastic and recommended.

As you said Cape Town has been much energized since I was last there and I thought it was fantastic. I loved the Waterfront, Long St and all the developments. We were all over the place - Boschendal for lunch, Lanzerac, all the mountain passes, Ho ut Bay, Simonstown, up the Mountain, and at Baia, Ginja and Miller's Thumb for dinner, we sure got around. Just sorry that Chapman's Peak Drive was closed. Kensington Place is a gem and Sasha looked after us vey well - they could not have been more helpful or obliging - even down to having my birthday necklace gift! By odd coincidence I had found Nomad jewellery on line before we left - it's a womens's cooperative in Claremont that makes tribal jewellery. We asked Sasha if she knew of them, and turned out she had two of their pieces in the hotel, that happened to be the two I had chosen from Nomad's website! Guess this was meant to be!

Kensington Place was the perfect hotel in terms or comfort, service, breakfast, style and proximity to the sights in Cape Town. They provided very good restaurant recommendations for the evening including Five Flies and Miller's thumb. We enjoyed th e drive through the wine area and stopped at a couple places along route, including a great experience tasting wine at Boschendal.

The grand finale. This hotel was AMAZING. It was definitely the best place I have ever stayed. Bill said it was one of his very top as well. I think if (and WHEN) I come back to Cape Town, we would stay here (if we didn't want to go the apartment route). The room was so cool and we got the special bathroom that overlooked outside and it was huge and so beautiful. The staff was the most attentive, without being annoying, of anywhere we have been. They were great. We had a quick bite before we climbed Table Mountain, and even just the small sandwiches we had there were out of this world! I didn't know I would ever say that about a hummus sandwich! They served us champagne when we arrived and before we went to dinner served us more complimentary champagne and oysters. Before we had been there 5 minutes they asked us if we had made dinner reservations and when we said we hadn't, they promptly made us one at a great local place which ended up being fantastic. When we got back from dinner, there was rose petals all over the lobby floor and in the rooms. I can't say enough good things! The only downside was that we had too short of a time there and I would have loved to have 2 or 3 more days!!

We loved Kensington Place. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with rose petals, champagne, and restaurant bookings for each night of our stay. The staff was wonderful. While everyone at the hotel was very friendly, Sasha and Mark were particularly helpful with itinerary recommendations, etc. Our room was lovely; we enjoyed having breakfast on our terrace and appreciated the amenities (heated floors, stereo...). The Township Tour was very enlightening; we had very informative guides to take us through Bo Kaap, District 6 Museum, and Langa.

It exceeded our expectations. Kensington Place booked a Cape Point tour for us as well as two dinner reservations which were great. They also had rose petals and a bottle of champagne waiting for us on arrival (similar to the Michelangelo in Joburg ). Thanks for asking for upgrades, and we have definitely decided that we need to do a "honeymoon" every year.

Cape Town was beautiful, and Kensington Place is an exceptional hotel. Sasha and Ashely couldn't have been more attentive or helpful. Sasha had already arranged dinners for every night we were in town, and all the spots she recommended were perfect. We ate at Ginga, Bizerka, Jardine, and Five Flys. And on our own we went to the Mount Nelson for dinner.

has spoiled me for hotels in Cape Town (and possibly anywhere else!) Without a shadow of a doubt, it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Every member of the staff made it a real pleasure to be there, nothing was too much trouble and they reall y know how to treat you like royalty.
