Kirkman's Kamp

We have fallen in love with Kirkman's camp, the animals nearby, the staff and the relaxed spirit of this place. Our guides and trackers were outstanding, especially Jonty and Voosi who were very passionate about the environment.

Kirkman's was excellent: comfortable rooms, good food and excellent game drives. Our guide Matthew Poole happened to be himself a photographer which helps very much to get the right positions for viewings. Sounds like a detail, but is important. Saw the Big 5 plus extraordinary leopard sightings and wild dogs.

Our experience with you, the andbeyond lodges and all in the safari has been very good and enjoyable, so much so that as you say, we have definitely been bitten by the safari bug and can’t wait to have the chance to go on more safaris!!
The very best were the wildlife and landscape, colours and scents. We keep such good impressions! People didn’t fall short either and we felt particularly indulged, we guessed maybe because of being Go2Africa customers 🙂
We are very happy with the experience as a whole and thankful to my sister for sharing her findings with us. We as well will recommend you to friends and family without doubt. It’s been an amazing safari. So, simply… Big thanks!!

Kirkman’s was nice. After having slept in tents, it felt like pure luxury. We had to be escorted to our rooms each night after dark because of the wild animals on the grounds. We saw a ton of lions and leopards at Kirkmans. We also managed to get our safari vehicle stuck on the river one night… what an adventure! We saw our first animal kill as well. It just provided a more rounded out safari experience after Chobe.

Of course, the highlight of the trip was the safari. Kirkman’s Kamp is a beautiful facility. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were catered upon by the staff. The food there was fabulous. They made a birthday cake and sang happy birthday for Ann Marie. Just an extra special touch in a wonderful setting. Our Ranger – Sean and Tracker – Elvis were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional. Their expertise and explanation of the environment added depth to the experience.

We were met by the smiling staff of Kirkman’s and quickly transported to the camp…Not knowing what to expect , we were amazed to see giraffe , impala , wildebeast, kudu and hyenas just on our way to the camp…
As you know , we were on a “round-the-world” trip and had seen and done many exciting things prior to our arrival at Kirkman’s Camp homever I can say that the safari at Sabi Sands was the highlight of our trip…The staff were the most helpful and friendly people we have ever met…They attended to our every wish and need and our Ranger (Jason) and Tracker (Jerry) were extremely professional and knowledgeable…We saw the “Big 5” within 18 hours of our arrival at the camp…

Kirkmans Kamp is really well run and our guide Lennox was hilarious. We have so many memories of sharing time with him. The weather there was both very hot and then cool. Their pool was perfect on the 40 plus temp day. In fact it was fun too and great exercise in between eating/ drinking and being merry!

Our time at Kirkman’s was fantastic. I was extremely pleased with our guide. He was the assistant ranger and was extremely knowledgable and friendly. We got to see so many animals…..it was amazing. I will send you a link to some of the photos that I have posted from the trip. All of the staff at Kirkman’s were excellent and I would go back there again, without hesitation.

We are so glad you recommended this place. Kirkman’s Kamp was amazing, from the service to the safaris. Food was fantastic, our buttler, Moses, after the second day he knew about bringing me a straw I had a straw for every meal. Ralf, our guide was so good explaining to us about the aniimals and taking us there. The tracker, Chester, also fantastic. The employees at the Kamp were attentive to every need, you can see they are happy with their jobs taking care of their guests. The managers also fantastic. We visited the community, very interesting. The breakfast buffet that Moses, Ralf and Chester prepared for us in the bush was a plesant surprise. I would return to Kirkman’s Kamp anytime and I will recommend to anybody who is doing a safari.

Kirkmans Kamp being exceptional in service, friendliness, quality and complete care with beautiful surroundings/furnishings, not to mention fabulous game watching and knowledge of the guides/trackers. Each and every staff member went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable and all the ‘specials' that we were treated to, as well as the unbelievable generosity, surpassed any expectations – above and beyond……………… – I forgot to mention the delicious fresh food with all the necessary dietary requirements fulfilled to a T.

The safari was amazing. The people at Kirkman’s were tremendous, without exception. Got great photos.

We had a wonderful time. Kirkman's Kamp was the highlight of the whole trip. Linda, who was sceptical of the whole thing, had a great time. Guide (Jason) was outstanding. Food was terrific – they accommodated our dietary restrictions well.

Kirkmans has that trademark andBeyond welcome by warm & friendly staff. The colonial house stretches across lovely lawns overlooking the Sand River below, and when not on safari guests can spend their time playing tennis, boulles or croquet, darling. The food is delicious and I can still remember their fresh homemade bread!

Kirkman’s Camp in Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Wow, what a hidden jewel. I have been to at least 9 lodges in Kenya, and this is my favorite of all. The food is exceptional, beautifully prepared, and graciously served. I am a vegetarian, and they prepared me incredibly delicious foods which I thoroughly enjoyed and very much appreciated. Our butler and waiter, Friday, was very friendly, and totally focus on our enjoyment the entire stay. He is part of the trip that we will fondly remember. The rooms were very large with nicely appointed bathrooms. The game drives each day are obviously the reason that we came to Kruger National Park. Anton, our guide, and Victor, our tracker were both very knowledgeable and skilled at what they do. They worked very hard to make the animal viewing as knowledgeable, and memorable as possible. The Land Rovers were just fantastic with their ‘stadium seating’ to ensure that every seat was a good one for the best possible game viewing.

I don’t even know where to begin with Kirkman’s Kamp other than to say, if I ever return to South Africa (and I hope I do) I would spend ALL my time at Kirkman’s.

Kirkman’s Kamp was brilliant really top drawer both from the level of comfort & the quality of the game, we couldn’t over praise the safari experience.

Kirkman’s was truly one of the finest establishments I have ever dealt with. The staff were truly professional one and all and were only concerned with our experience and welfare.

Kirkmans : very nice lodge. As you mentionned to me it is less “wild” than Botswana, but I knew it before. Our guide was excellent, and one of the best we had of all our game drives. We saw the big five in less than 3 game drives, that was perfect for my brother and step mother.

We had an incredible time on our trip to South Africa. The combination of the world cup and safari was perfect. We would love to come again sometime for another safari with And Beyond. The service was spectacular and the guides were very knowledgeable. Not to mention the lodges were beautiful!
