Overview of Machaba Camp
Located on the eastern edge of the world-famous Okavango Delta, independently owned and managed, Machaba Camp is perfectly positioned to make the most the delta’s wetland and woodland habitats with their thriving game and birdlife.
Set in a grove of towering trees overlooking the Khwai River and Moremi Game Reserve, this charming tented camp recalls the classic colonial safari era. With only 10 luxury tents, Machaba guarantees an intimate and tranquil atmosphere. The warm service and cosy nature of the camp makes it a popular choice for honeymooners.
Day and night game drives allow for thrilling encounters with the area’s wildlife, which is plentiful year-round. An exquisite riverside view is framed by your private verandah and often includes animals making their daily commute to drink from the Kwai’s fresh waters. Affordable, authentic and unpretentious, Machaba is both a family-friendly camp and a sweetly romantic retreat for couples.

Luxury Tent
Eight beautifully appointed tented suites are connected by a footpath that winds its way under shady trees to the main lodge. Elegantly furnished in charming Africa-inspired décor, large gauze windows allow a refreshing breeze to cool the interior but keep out the insects. A spacious en suite bathroom has double sinks, a flush toilet and hot shower. Your private verandah allows for uninterrupted views of passing wildlife.
Machaba has two double-sized family tents, each with a central lounge area and shared bathroom. These tents are ideal for families with younger children.
General Facilities
Consisting of just 10 luxurious en suite tents served by a central lounge and dining area, Machaba offers a tranquil and intimate atmosphere overlooking the Okavango Delta’s Khwai River.
The secluded pool area is an ideal spot to while away the afternoon siesta between your morning and afternoon game drives. Laze on a pool lounger with a book from the library and a tall, cold drink from the bar. It is a dreamy scene: delicious sunshine, birds chattering in the trees and shy antelope passing by in the dappled undergrowth.
For avid photographers, Machaba has a superb game-viewing hide overlooking the river. You are dropped off and collected at a pre-arranged time, which leaves you free to photograph the abundant game and birdlife to your heart’s content.
