Overview of Mara Plains Camp

Kenya, Masai Mara

Mara Plains Camp is a small and private luxury tented camp in the Olare Motogori Conservancy, on the northern border of the Masai Mara National Reserve. It is an area rich in wildlife, and is particularly good for predators. Accommodating a maximum of 14 guests, the camp offers a private experience and personalised service. It also prides itself on the little touches that make your safari so much more enjoyable, like cameras and binoculars in each room for you to use while out game viewing.

Game drives are conducted in Olare Motogori and will deliver great wildlife sightings: there are only four guests per vehicle and rarely will you come across any other vehicles in this private concession. Your personal guide can also take you into the Masai Mara National Reserve, famed for its sensational wildlife and the wildebeest migration. Other activities include night game drives, hot-air balloon safaris (weather permitting) and visits to traditional Maasai villages.

This place was just incredible; truly gorgeous and the Camp Managers Sam and Rebecca were the best. I loved the social environment they facilitated with group dinners and evening bon fires and dinner drinks. They really acted as hosts as much as they did camp managers, and it just really elevated my whole experience there. My guide, Frank, at Mara Plains camp was also just a cut above. He had so so much knowledge of every animal, every creature and just knew where to go to find every animal. Frank was constantly scanning, constantly driving all over the place and just really made sure I had the best safari in the Mara.
