Renowned for its exceptional Big 5 game viewing, Ngala Tented Camp offers twice-daily game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles as well as exciting evening night drives, sensitive off-roading and guided bush walks. Ngala Tented Camp has only nine luxurious tented suites set on raised platforms with private wooden decks. Each spacious tent has an en suite bathroom with a bathtub as well as an invigorating outdoor shower with mist nozzles. The suites also offer extra-length beds, electric blankets for winter, mini-bars, overhead fans and air conditioning for summer to ensure maximum comfort during any season.

You can access Wi-Fi in your room and have a relaxing in-room massage. 'Gym in a basket' is available on request.

Make use of the camp's lovely guest areas overlooking the Timbavati riverbed, a natural feature which draws wildlife to its tree-lined banks. Surrounded by a timber deck, the contoured lap pool is a peaceful place to relax and escape the heat of the day, as is the spa.

In the evening you can sit on the viewing deck above the Timbavati riverbed and enjoy a few sundowner drinks and swap stories with fellow guests.

There is also a massage sala with vistas of the Timbavati, Wi-Fi access throughout (tents included) and a private airstrip for those who prefer to fly in. Children 12 and over can be accommodated at Ngala Tented Camp but guests must be at least 16 to participate in interpretive nature walks or walking safaris.

A private 4x4 safari vehicle for your sole use is available at an extra charge and subject to availability.

Ngala offers Pan-African cuisine - a blend of traditional and ethnic African recipes and cooking methods presented with a modern and characteristic flavour.

Private lunch platters can be enjoyed on the viewing decks or at the poolside, and honeymooners will be delighted with Ngala Tented Camp's moonlit bush dinners, served under the African night sky and making for a most memorable dining experience.

A kosher menu is available at extra cost with prior notice.

Ngala Tented Camp

Marina Hernadez

"Ngala tented camp was just really really really amazing it is a dream, people are so nice, food is great, safaris just amazing. The only problem is that we did not want to leave... but that was a problem in every place we visited."

Jan Weinberger

"We loved Ngala. The staff was wonderful. Great place. The safari, of course, was amazing. Seeing so many beautiful animals in their natural environment was fantastic."

Arthur Chait

"The level of service, food, guides etc was just outstanding. I wish Ngala had an indoor shower in the tent instead of only a tub but that’s minor."

Chris Adamo

"And then there is Ngala and &Beyond. Both were perfect. &Beyond has a great ethic and is all over the conservation and community story and &Beyond and will suggest Ngala to anyone who goes there. Its was beyond anything we could have expected."

Ilana Mycock

"Ngala Tented Camp was fantastic for game viewing and the bush dinner on the last night was amazing."

Sam Steinhardt

"Ngala was worth every penny, from the incredible service to the game drives to the food and everything in between."

Simon Warner

All the staff at Ngala were very friendly and helpful and tried their best to make you feel welcome. The meals were delicious. Breakfast and lunch were sometimes served by the pool which was nice as you passed by the resident Nyala and Bushbuck on the way to the pool and on one occasion, a small herd of elephants joined us for a drink at the pool! Our Ranger, Lee-Anne was very knowledgeable, great fun and had a lovely sense of humour. We enjoyed all our game drives and were fortunate to see some wonderful sightings.

Ngala tented camp was also great. Accommodation was good but lacked the private outside space for lying about. The food was delicious and the staff were so attentive, making sure everything was as we wanted it. Oscar, the chef, was a star. We ha ve to specifically mention the ranger and tracker on our walking safari. Barney and Richard were truly professional. They instilled great confidence in us from the way they approached their job but there was still time for a laugh. They gave us some great sightings both on foot and mobile
