WOW what a fabulous holiday! We snorkelled, windsurfed, swam daily in the pools and the ocean, ate at almost a different restaurant every day and loved the high service levels throughout! Our favourite spot was the beach cafe where we sat with our toes in the sand listening to the ocean. Paradis is a perfect place for families & active couples.

My wife and I stayed at Paradis as the last stop on our anniversary vacation on the way back home to Perth from South Africa. We arrived in early evening and were greeted warmly, check-in was a quick process and we were driven to our room. The room o verlooked the beach, not too far along from to the Blue Marlin restaurant where we had breakfast most mornings. The room is interesting, at some stage it would have been magnificent, but it is now showing signs of age. The curtains in our room did not match, being different shades of white and one being about 15cm shorter than the other. The bathroom while very large has no drawers or shelves for personal items, also the tiles were cracked in places and the grout quite discoloured. A freshen up is definitely needed. As our anniversary was while we were here we decided to book dinner at La Ravanne for the night, the premier restaurant. This was not to be, they had a dental convention on at this same time and it seems that conventions get preference. They had booked out the entire restaurant for that evening, they had also booked out entire areas on each night as well as on one afternoon closing the beach outside our room for a cocktail party. Not a major inconvenience but an annoyance nonetheless. We settled on dinner most nights at Brabant, the main dining area, a buffet style. The choices here are amazing, plenty of selections of good quality food. For a our anniversary we settled on La Palma, the Italian restaurant, the food and the service was very good. The bread basket was full of fresh baked varieties, great selection. The fact that children played hide and seek in the restaurant was a bit of a mood killer, but we didn't let it spoil our night. On our third afternoon our telephone died in the room, as a result our internet access also vanished. We went down to reception to enquire about a possible cause and they very quickly sent housekeeping to investigate. They turned the modem on and off, I'd already done this, and tried the phone. They tested the phone in next door and decided it was the line. We were offered a mobile phone, not sure how this helped with Internet access. We were told that it would, be fixed the next day. When we returned from our day trip the next day we discovered nothing had happened. We again went to the desk to enquire about internet etc, concierge asked why we didn't phone....... They then said they would report it to technicians. They eventually came on the morning we left, as we left the room it was still not repaired and there seems to be no rush. Our feelings about Paradis are mixed as we leave. There are some aspects that are absolutely brilliant, while little things let them down. I hope management take some action to freshen the rooms up to help it live up to its 5 star rating which at the moment it doesn't quite meet

In the Paradis, the accommodation was appropriate and the personnel were very nice. The only thing that I would like to add is that the wireless internet service could be improved in the rooms and the TV service was quite limited. The vendors and ind irect service providers at the hotel can be a bit annoying sometimes, but since they do not insist that much, I guess it's ok. In my opinion the hotel would benefit greatly if instead of allowing vendors to circulate in the beach and inside the hotel premises, provide an area for craft sale items and a boat boot to sell dolphin watching or any other service. Approaching people when they are resting at the beach is not very nice. People go there if they want their services/goods. Everything else went just fine and as expected.

"The hotel was very nice, we received welcome drinks. We had great rooms on mainfloor which were very close in front of the beach. The kids could go in and out when they wanted. Food was great, huge buffet, kids loved it. My wife liked the Spa a lot."
