Stanley’s Camp is a classic tented camp, situated on a private concession overlooking the Okavango Delta floodplains in Botswana. This romantic, intimate camp has 260 000 acres of private concession wilderness all to itself and offers the most incredible views over this diverse landscape.

Mokoro excursions are probably one of the best ways to explore this intricate network of waterways, and provide an intimate experience of the floodplains. Alternatively, game drives and guided nature walks are also great ways to search for the Big 5, while a helicopter ride gives you an aerial view of the Okavango Delta.

Tent

The tents blend in seamlessly with the pristine surroundings and have unending views over the Delta floodplains. Each one is individually designed to create the most comfortable living space for you. You will find a traditional ceiling fan and designs displaying classic and understated elegance. Tents are elevated and furnished with king beds (can be converted to twin), seating and a desk area. A private balcony with armchairs affords incredible views across the surroundings.

Stanley's Camp offers a relaxed yet well-equipped base for your safari. Enjoy a refreshing pool, a welcoming bar, and complimentary internet access, with laundry services available for added convenience.     The Stanley Lodge was also very nice… The landscape is also very nice. All the tents were a fantastic experience for kids, and all very nice, new looking and clean and nice locations.

    Stanley camp was Sean and my favorite, it exceeded our expectations . Allan and Martin are amazing people whom made our stay perfect. We would want Allan to be our guide when we return. Cape Town was fabulous, our tour guides were so wonderful, very impressed.

    Good plane flights and the elephants at Stanley were unforgettable. The calm, quiet world created by Doug & Sandi was wonderful. Saw lots of birds, excellent food and lodgings.

    A bit more contemporary (compared to Shinde Camp and Chief’s Camp). Great room. The staff were fine, but not the family friendly of the other two camps. On was our guide and has great eyes.

    Stanley’s Camp was brilliant – smaller but charming in its own way. Loved the lodge, tents, staff. It had the best chef of all the lodges and also had a la carte meals rather than a buffet for dinner, which I prefer. Saw Leopard and her baby which was the highlight. Riding off road and through water was thrilling although we got stuck a few times. It felt as remote as could be with no one around. It is a beautiful part of the delta. I have to admit I was a little leary of the elephant experience there as I thought it would be like seeing some trained circus animals but quite to the contrary, it was a marvellous experience and would recommend it to anyone.

    We stayed 3 days in Stanleys Camp. This was a tented lodge, the tents were far enough apart to give you privacy while maintaining some security. This camp is excellent. We were collected from the air-strip after a hour flight on a small 8 seater plane. The 4×4 had a funnel so it could go through water, and go through water it did. A lot of the roads were flooded (as they often are) it looked more like a lake than a road, yet the 4×4 just ploughed through it. We were taken back the first few time, by the end of the trip we just lifter our feet when told to do so and barely noticed the fish flapping around the floor of the vehicle. Our guide was an amazing guide and person. His name is TT. He took off each day and looked for prints, listened for sounds, smelt the air, looked for vultures and birds and other animal signals… He drove mostly off road, but found us some great sighting. Lions mating, Leopard with a kill, hyena, giraffe, giraffe… and so much more. I would recommend you request him.

    Was everything I was looking for in a tented camp. We had rain our first night and day… I mean torrential rain, so hard it was comical. So that is what backgammon and card games are for, and it was our only chance for some down time. We were kept very busy with game drives and meals. Harry was very accommodating to Ivy’s non dairy request, and prepared special meals for her, all with a big smile. Evelyn is a wonderful hostess and manager, always available for any question or request. Sue and Brian are terrific people, and we became fast friends. All the staff was pleasant, helpful and all had a warm, friendly demeanour. Our guides, Carter and Rocky, were amazing in helping us to see many animals and we had some interesting adventures as well, tracking leopards and lions hunting – at night! We enjoyed some great sundowner moments with them. I think it would be easier to list the game we didn’t see. We saw so many animals in abundance and in various settings, many of our fellow campers were becoming envious!
