Riverside Room

Sand Rivers Selous has five standard, open-fronted cottages, built on stilts, with an authentic thatched roof. Each cottage features one side open to the river, giving clear views of the water and sandbanks from a lavishly net-covered bed.

Other room types:

Just near the main lodge set on the hillside, there are three beautifully built stone and thatch suites. Enjoy the stunning views from these open-front suites as you sit in your private lounge area. Wake up each morning in a large king-sized bed after a relaxing night in your plunge pool set with views over the river.

For the more adventurous, don't miss out on the chance to go fly-camping in the bush. These camps are simple, but do have ice cold drinks, delicious food, comfortable bedrolls, toilets and bucket showers.

Enjoy a walking safari – a 4-day wilderness walk in the remote parts of the Nyerere National Park and the Tagalala Hot Springs.

Overnight fly-camping is another favourite at Sand Rivers Selous, where you have the chance to experience a night in the open, under the gorgeous African night sky.

Each guest group also has exclusive access to their own vehicle and a dedicated guide.

The main dining table is made from an enormous tree, and is the meeting point for lunches and dinners.

Breakfasts at Sand Rivers Selous can be enjoyed with other guests in the lodge, or as a picnic under the shade of a tree.
