Overview of Savuti Camp
Situated on what was for almost 30 years a dry grassy plain in the southern part of the Linyanti Concession, Savuti Camp now finds itself on the banks of the now-flowing Savuti Channel. Always an area of great wildlife sightings, the presence of permanent water has tranformed the area of Savuti, also spelt Savute, into possibly one of the best game-viewing destinations in Southern Africa. Expect large numbers of elephant plus many species of antelope and classic African animals such as giraffe, buffalo and warthog.
The summer zebra migration passes through the area and the bird watching is fantastic but the ace up Savuti Bush Camp’s sleeve is the abundance of predators: lion, spotted hyena, cheetah, leopard, wild dog and jackal are all commonly sighted. Activities at include game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, close-up game viewing from hides, night drives and walks with an armed guide.
The Bush Buddy programme has been specially designed to appeal to guests from six to 17, with unique activities, gifts and even menus.

Rooms at Savuti Camp
Unwind and relax, in your own private luxury
Standard Twin Tent
Each of the seven luxury en suite chalets at Savuti Bush Camp has been built on a raised wooden deck and features canvas walls and a high thatch roof. All rooms face the river and open onto a spacious wooden deck from which to watch both the river and wildlife pass by.
Family Tent
The Family Tent is a large double tent with a master bedroom and an adjoining bedroom with two single beds. Both open onto the large wooden deck overlooking the Savuti Channel. Enquire about spending a night out in the wilderness: a bed can be made up and dinner served in one of the hides for a spellbinding experience.
General Facilities
The camp’s main area is raised high on wooden stilts overlooking the channel and passing animals. The thatched dining area, bar and comfortable lounge area spills out onto a large, shady wooden deck with a small swimming pool.
There is also a safari shop for gifts for friends and family at home. Congregate around the campfire at night for a couple of drinks and the chance to swap stories of the day’s best wildlife sightings.
As part of the Bush Buddy programme, a specially trained staff mentor can be assigned to guide guests aged from six to 17 through many educational and entertaining activities, like traditional basket weaving, sculpture from natural materials, tracking lessons and safe-and-secure bush walks.
