Swakopmund. A magnificence town where we managed to free-fall, quad bike ( I turned one over which I don’t recommend), fly over Sousesfli, do the township tour, obvious see the seal colonies and pelicans ( Kayak if you want to get really close) , oi l rigs, play golf, and eat well --- and there were still things to do when we left. Swakopmund Guest House had its own private courtyard for us and was friendly and helpful. If you want to go to the Tug restaurant, i.e. the very popular, you need to book weeks ahead.

"The accommodation choices were great - the motel in Swakopmund was the only one that wasn't that good (the receptionist needed a refresher in customer service) but it was only a pitstop anyway."

Fabulous. Welcoming, excellent service, helpful, nothing too much trouble, lovely cool simple quality tasteful light decor. Bedroom perfect, fabulous bathroom, some nice little touches like a small cafe and real coffee, little biscuits - a real bed for Alexi and little Cadbury chocolates on the bed which thrilled Alexi! Excellent breakfast. Also, you were right, a good stopover place, plenty to do. We visited the Crystal Museum which houses the largest crystal in the world, had dinner at the Tug which is a real converted tug boat on the sea, great atmosphere & decent food. Tons to do - we did the catamaran boat trip around Walvis Bay, and took scenic flight over Soussesvlei - stunning.
