Tengile River Lodge is a warm and contemporary safari lodge situated in the sublime Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. This reserve is part of a conservation area that is the size of the state of New Jersey, and shares unfenced boundaries with the iconic Kruger National Park – home to the biggest diversity of wildlife in South Africa. Sabi Sands delivers some of the finest Big 5 safari experiences in Africa and is renowned for its exceptional leopard sightings.

Tengile's elegant interiors resonate modern fashion, without compromising on authenticity. Tranquil and intimate spaces are cleverly distributed throughout the lodge, creating wonderful open spaces for small group gatherings. Spacious floating suites (raised above ground level) are nestled in the dappled shade of a riverine forest, and features exquisite views of the Tengile River.

Built with an extremely light carbon footprint, using durable and environmentally friendly materials to keep sustainability at its core. The cleverly designed private decks feature sunken outdoor lounges and lap pools, creating exclusive havens in the open air.

Go on early morning and late afternoon game drives in a reserve with strict vehicle limits, which ensures the exclusivity of your game viewing experience and superb animal sightings. It is not unusual to see all members of the Big 5 in the same day here.

    Tengile was also a wonderful stay. Beautiful lodge, a great setting, and a great guide and tracker. Some of the staff remembered my son from last year’s trip and we found out most guides knew other guides we have had. Too funny. It’s a very peaceful setting also.
