The Clarendon is a fabulous property. Beautiful suite facing Bantry bay, wonderful staff, and excellent breakfasts. Adele is lovely and even put together a light meal after arriving completely drained Tuesday evening. Really hard to get going in the morning it is so nice. Excellent pick.

The Clarendon Bantry Bay was a wonderful place to spend five days and we thoroughly enjoyed it. In particular, we had spectacular days on Table Mountain and Robben Island and a delightful trip to Franschoeck. However, driving in Cape Town is very d ifficult for Americans (we talked to a number of others who agreed), and we would strongly recommend not renting a car until after one leaves Cape Town, not during. Also, a GPS unit is an absolute necessity to get around.
