Rooms

Signature Riverside Room

The Signature Riverside Rooms have views of the Eerste River and Helderberg mountains.

Signature Garden Terrace Room

The Signature Garden Terrace Rooms open out onto a series of six private courtyards, each of which has a communal swimming pool, lush garden and shady patio. All Signature Garden Terrace Rooms have king-sized beds and neutral but warm colour palettes.

Signature Room

Spier is designed to feel like a country village, with meandering paths winding their way through individual accommodation blocks.

Located upstairs, the Signature Rooms are light, airy and sunny. Furnished simply but tastefully and featuring pieces from the Spier Collection, each en suite bathroom has a large tub and a water-wise shower.

Facilities

The beautifully landscaped gardens that surround the hotel and stretch to the wine estate are a wonderful place for quiet walks, a relaxed picnic or an exciting game of tag with the children.

Eagle Encounters is situated on Spier's grounds and houses many birds of prey, and provides the chance to have personal encounters with owls, eagles and falcons.

In addition, active guests can tackle the long and short running and cycling trails, or hop on a Segway to tour the vineyards.

If you prefer culture, join one of the art tours or browse the daily craft market for local goodies to take home as gifts.

Dining

Situated on a top-class wine estate, you have a range of public restaurants to choose from at Spier, all of which offer excellent cuisine and beautiful views.

The Spier Farm Café is a farm-to-table eating experience, offering organic produce from the local surrounds or sourced from local producers who share the same ethical approach. Not to mention an harmonious environment in which to enjoy healthy, hearty food.

You can also visit the Spier Deli & Grill where you can fill up your picnic basket with fresh breads and cheeses and relax beside the lake or under the trees on the lawn.

If you fancy something down-to-earth, head to the Hoghouse Brewing Company, which is all about 'beer, barbeque and bread'!

Of course, wine tasting with optional food pairing is also available at Spier.

"Beautiful location, nice area to walk within the farm wall, we could not enjoy some of the activities, but even walking around was brilliant, restaurant catered for our dietary requirement (lacto-vegetarian) and served delicious food."

"Spier in Stellenbosch was lovely. We chilled out, drank lots of wine and visited the cheetah sanctuary as well as Stellenbosch itself. The accommodation was fine with the kids sharing the sofa bed."

Spier is a nice place. It has spirit of South Africa. It was sunny and hot. Just perfect! It was interesting to visit the area of wild predatory birds ( eagles, hawks etc.) on the territory of Spier, to walk near the river and to go to the fields. I t was nice to see old buildings and facilities on territory of Spier. New Year's Eve graced us with a good selection of options available on the Spier. We said goodbye to Spier with grateful hearts.

"Our trip went extremely well. Thank you for arranging the accommodation for us. We enjoyed Kapama, Table Bay and Spier a lot. South Africa is such a beautiful country - both the safari trip and the Cape Town visit far exceeded our expectation."

Our stay at The Spier was also enjoyable. The grounds of the wine farm were pretty incredible. It was nice they were also able to transport us to and from our dinner plans each night. We were surprised how many children were there. It wasn't nece ssarily a bad thing, but it wasn't something we expected during our stay in wine country. Maybe it was due to the fact we were there when South Africa had a public holiday...

"The Spier Hotel, was excellent. Loved the grounds and the number of activities were fantastic. We checked out the raptors that they have there and did our share of wine tasting."

"The Speir was nice too, but we arrived there late at night and left the next morning so I can't comment to much on the property itself. But the cheetah place and bird encounters was great. And we did have dinner that night up in a tree. So lovely!!"

Our stay at Spier was brief but very nice. Our friends met us again as soon as we arrived and took us to a market and the Waterford winery. What a special place! We came back to Spier and had dinner at Moyo on the grounds and it was another highlight of our trip. For some reason "Morroco" comes to mind. We didn't get to spend much time in our room, but it was beautiful, and the wake up call at 3:30 am came way too soon.
