The Spier Hotel

I love Spier, a perfect place for families, frequented by many locals during the quiet season. Whether it is a day trip or overnight, there is something for everyone to do. There is a complimentary kids club for kids 3 years and older, whilst Mom and Dad spend time wine tasting or at the spa. The rooms for families are all on the ground floor, which is very nice, with proper comfortable beds and cots for babies. The cuisine is amazing. Overall, a great spot for both locals and internationals, I highly recommend it for those who do not have the budget for the likes of Babylonstoren. My family and I had an amazing time and such a good experience with all the staff that assisted us, the service was great.

An absolute gem for families! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like we were at home. Our son was welcomed with open arms and an eye kept on him while we were checking in. Food was spectacular! We spent two full days at the farm and we were so busy every day. There are walking trails, bicycles to hire for kids and adults, wine tasting and kiddies tasting. The Eagle encounter was great with 3 shows a day as well as owls you are able to interact with and the handlers are all extremely knowledgeable. The rooms are very spacious with beautiful views of the gardens.

What an incredible child friendly hotel! My kids cannot wait to return. There was so much to explore, so many activities available and of course, the entire property to explore. The Kids Club offer more child friendly activities like painting and playdough making while parents can explore – or enjoy a meal together. While you wine taste, your kids can enjoy juice tasting. One does not need to leave this property as it offers so much.

I was quickly reminded of why this is such an excellent hotel choice for families. A stunning property in the heart of the Stellenbosch wine region, Spier offers so much more than a comfortable place to stay. The estate has so many incredible features and facilities for couples, honeymooners and families alike. They have many dining options including the Vadas smokehouse and bakery – well worth visiting. Picnics on the lawns, the hotel restaurant. Activities like Segway tours, Eagle Encounters (loads of fun for the kids), a big swimming pool, and a spa – beautiful grounds to walk around and explore.

I spent a night there with my family, 8 years after staying there on our wedding night, and it was just as good then as it is now. The staff and service were excellent, so friendly and attentive. The food was really good and the wine was one of my favourites. We stayed in a riverside suite (the same suite we stayed in on our wedding night), large enough for a family of 4.

Overall, I would highly recommend Spier!

This was fantastic, with very spacious rooms, good food and excellent facilities. There were also a lot of events happening at the café / garden areas like live music on the Friday night, barbeque on the weekend, free bikes to use which all really added to the experience.

Beautiful location, nice area to walk within the farm wall, we could not enjoy some of the activities, but even walking around was brilliant, restaurant catered for our dietary requirement (lacto-vegetarian) and served delicious food.

Spier in Stellenbosch was lovely. We chilled out, drank lots of wine and visited the cheetah sanctuary as well as Stellenbosch itself. The accommodation was fine with the kids sharing the sofa bed.

So much to see and do in this wonderful setting just outside Stellenbosch. Perfect for families and couples, Spier is the ideal destination for an all-round holiday experience.

Spier is a nice place. It has spirit of South Africa. It was sunny and hot. Just perfect! It was interesting to visit the area of wild predatory birds ( eagles, hawks etc.) on the territory of Spier, to walk near the river and to go to the fields. It was nice to see old buildings and facilities on territory of Spier. New Year’s Eve graced us with a good selection of options available on the Spier. We said goodbye to Spier with grateful hearts.

Our trip went extremely well. Thank you for arranging the accommodation for us. We enjoyed Kapama, Table Bay and Spier a lot. South Africa is such a beautiful country – both the safari trip and the Cape Town visit far exceeded our expectation.

Our stay at The Spier was also enjoyable. The grounds of the wine farm were pretty incredible. It was nice they were also able to transport us to and from our dinner plans each night. We were surprised how many children were there. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn’t something we expected during our stay in wine country. Maybe it was due to the fact we were there when South Africa had a public holiday…

The Spier Hotel, was excellent. Loved the grounds and the number of activities were fantastic. We checked out the raptors that they have there and did our share of wine tasting.

The Speir was nice too, but we arrived there late at night and left the next morning so I can’t comment to much on the property itself. But the cheetah place and bird encounters was great. And we did have dinner that night up in a tree. So lovely!!

Our stay at Spier was brief but very nice. Our friends met us again as soon as we arrived and took us to a market and the Waterford winery. What a special place! We came back to Spier and had dinner at Moyo on the grounds and it was another highlight of our trip. For some reason “Morroco” comes to mind. We didn’t get to spend much time in our room, but it was beautiful, and the wake up call at 3:30 am came way too soon.

The dinner at Moyo and the accommodation at the Spier Village thrilled my wife and I, of course.

We loved the Spier. The room was so impressive, real luxury. Staff, service, food, surroundings there all absolutely first class. We will definitely recommend and thanks for suggesting it.

The place is very nice and the Villa worked very well for both families.

We loved the Bed and Breakfast that you chose for us. Wonderful staff, comfortable accommodations, good food, and nice extras recognizing our Honeymoon. They were all delightful.

Spier was also very good. I booked Moyo separately for the first eve. Really intersting and kids loved the program and music and face paintings. Its a beautiful location, very good with kids. Especially the picnic possibility was good.
