Winchester Hotel – 10 stars – really good start to the trip, great location and free shuttle to V&A Waterfront was helpful.

The Winchester was a super choice, we all enjoyed it. We loved the courtyard area. Food was good, we ate there for several meals, nice that breakfast was included and it was good! Rooms were very clean.

The Winchester Boutique Hotel is a charming Cape Dutch-style property that beautifully complements the Sea Point promenade. With its elegant rooms, highly acclaimed restaurants, and on-site spa, it offers a truly memorable stay. However, its prime location is what really sets it apart. Overall, the check-in process was seamless, and I was warmly welcomed by Phillip, who did an excellent job welcoming us to the property. I was pleasantly surprised when he managed to arrange an upgrade for us, which was a lovely gesture. However, this meant that we were in the wrong room for our bubbly surprise, which we were informed about in the morning. Nevertheless, it was a kind and lovely gesture, and we took the bubbly home.

The room itself was delightful and comfortable, especially with the soft furnishings and the upgraded bathroom. It had a lovely new style that added to the overall ambiance.

Breakfast was excellent, the courtyard is very beautiful with established bougainvillea climbing up to each floor. I recommend the eggs benedict and the main buffet provided ample choice to guests. Service was excellent.

A solid 4-star hotel offering from Newmark. The refurb has made the public areas look very smart and chic, modern and elegant. They definitely exude a more luxury feel, but I felt the rooms didn’t quite keep up with the public spaces. They have varying room categories with a couple of options where you can book 2 rooms next door to each other for families. There is a further “outer door” which can be locked, so kids and parents have their own rooms but are still private to go between the rooms. It’s a heritage hotel, so they need to work with what they have – so not all rooms have baths. Please request it if important. Rooms at the front of the hotel have lovely views, but towards the back, you do look towards the mountain and the Sea Point apartments. Dining was very good and I feel like it would be a good vibe for families or people wanting a central location but not V&A. Swimming pool is heated, which is a highlight for the cooler months.

The hotel that you had booked for us was also very good – it totally surpassed our expectations for sure. My kids were very happy that it had superior Wifi and the breakfast buffet was also very nice. We also got lucky, because both of the days that we were there, the weather was really nice, and we got an awesome view from the top of Table Mountain and though the water was cold, we still got a chance to go to the beach. Like you said, the V&A Waterfront was only a few minutes from the hotel, so we were able to dine there for most of the meals, and it was simply beautiful. The hotel itself was right in front of the water, so we were able to enjoy an evening just sitting in the grass in front of the hotel and enjoying the sunset on the water. The highlights in Cape Town were definitely the awesome hotel, the paragliding, and Table Mountain.

Winchester Mansions was exceptional!!! The staff was all so helpful and accommodating. The bar and restaurant were great. The service was impeccable. We have never seen such a well taken care of hotel and we were so well taken care of!

Cape Town, the jewel in the Crown – the choice of Winchester Mansions was perfect for us. Unfortunately 5 nights was nowhere enough as we enjoyed Capetown for the V & A Waterfront, Table Mountain, Wineries and spectacular scenery. We enjoyed it so much we are considering returning for a longer holiday in a couple of years' time.

Well, to start with, we all had a wonderful and fun filled holidays. We had a comfortable stay at all destinations especially at Winchester Mansions in Cape Town. They were very hospitable and we loved the city. Cape town is really beautiful . Kids simply loved the city.

Winchester Mansions was perfect in every way. The service, the location, the food, the rooms. Just pure delight, which certainly increased the pleasure of being in already such a wonderfully unique city like Cape Town.

Winchester Mansions was such a nice place to stay! We enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine and snacks. It was definitely a more luxury place than we are use to staying in. The staff was very helpful. We would have liked to have one more day in Cape Town to visit the wineries.

We loved Cape town, the hotel was spectacular. We spent five full days sight-seeing.

The Winchester Mansions upgraded me to a suite which was sea facing and lovely. The staff at all the hotels were so wonderful. They make you feel like you are so welcome. The food was tremendous.

Winchester Mansions in fact has excellent service. The staff are warm and have a lovely family environment which the kids certainly enjoyed as well.

Cape Town is fantastic and the Windchester Mansions is such a great hotel! The room (well… it looked more like an apartment) we got was more then perfect and the hotel staff was very nice too.

I would recommend the Winchester Mansions to anyone. The room was enormous, which was great for Amelie and they couldn’t have been more helpful with the baby. They also arranged a babysitter for us one night, which worked out fine and they did accommodate the early check in which was great after the flight with the little one.

Winchester Mansions was very convenient. We had a huge room and excellent food. I left my sunglasses there but they found them and posted them back to me in the UK.

The Winchester Hotel was great and had wonderful staff with great service!
The jazz brunch is a must, even with children. The taxi-service they offer, makes the money worthwhile and the fact of having the green area in front with play an area for the kids was great. Very important to us was coming from Angola and needed to move around freely which we did.

Clients stayed in the Winchester suite to accommodate a baby and toddler.

We were given a bedroom which was part of a larger suite. When we arrived, the door to the suite was open. I had asked the staff to lock it, which they did a couple of hours later. During our last night at the hotel I woke up in the middle of the night to somebody coming through the door. The door had been unlocked again at some point without our knowledge. The night manager did not find the key so they could not lock the door but they sent a security guard to secure our comfort and safety for the rest of the night. In the morning the hotel promised to compensate the discomfort by refunding the cost of the last night.

It was good. The housekeeping and the service at the bar were not the best – but the rest of the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Both camps, although quite different experiences, were just superb in terms of location, game viewing, luxury, and service.

We really appreciated that you notified all the places of my birthday. Winchester Mansions had champagne for us. Nice touches.
