Born in a small sea-side village on the South Coast of kwaZulu-Natal so I grew up exposed daily to the richness, beauty and diversity of Africa. I went on to live in Durban, the kwaZulu-Natal Midlands, Johannesburg and Cape Town, where I arrived as a university student.
I am passionate about people and places and love the creative energy I feel when I’m creating what I hope are cherished experiences for my clients.
Where I Have Travelled
I went on a Kruger National Park and Madikwe Private Game Reserve safari in 2016. Needless to say, there were plenty of game drives, safari action and magical sunsets. Most recently I was on a short getaway to Oribi Gorge on the kwaZulu-Natal lower South Coast, combining the bush and beach.
Memorable places I have visited locally include the Drakensberg Mountains, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, Midmar Dam and Nottingham Road in the KZN Midlands. The wonderful Western Cape offerings include the Winelands, Cape Point and Robben Island. In addition I have lived in all three major cities of South Africa namely Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
Elsewhere, I have travelled to Mozambique as well as Dubai, London and New York City.
My Favourite Travel Moment
Other than the Kruger National Park, which is beyond compare, a favourite travel moment would be my time in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. The early morning game drives against the backdrop of fever trees with their yellow trunks stand out as a favourite travel scene. The light contrast provided by the trees as we drove through gave true meaning to why they are called ‘Umkhanyakude’ in isiZulu, meaning ‘that which provides light from a distance’.
What I Love About Africa
Africa moves you. What you experience and see on this continent is varied, exciting, inspiring, tranquil, exhilarating: you name it and Africa has it.
