Ideal for those seeking a genuine African safari, Bologonya Under Canvas promises an authentic stay – from Meru-style canvas tents to game drives through the untamed Serengeti and spotting the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo) as you traverse the wild savannah.

Situated in one of Africa's most famous safari destinations, Bologonya affords guests the chance to experience the less frequented and more remote areas of the Serengeti National Park. Early morning and afternoon game drives are a thrill as you set out through the plains, spotting giraffe grazing on the top leaves of trees and hyena stalking prey. Enhance your drive through the plains with breakfast in the bush at sunrise or sundowners with lake Masek as your view. And if your visit coincides with the region's green season (November to May), you'll be able to enjoy a scenic hot-air balloon flight over the Serengeti's south plains.

The seasonal mobile camp operates from June to November, changing location three times a year in pursuit of nature's greatest spectacle, the Great Wildebeest Migration. It secures prime spots for every part of this magical show, from the birth of the calves to the moment the wildebeest reach their final destination.

General Facilities

An authentic Meru-style canvas tent houses the main lounge, a great gathering spot to rest between game drives or before dinner. Reclining on one of the comfortable chairs' pairs well with the view of the untamed surrounding wilderness. After a bit of relaxation, head out to the campfire area, where a fire is lit each evening, to swap stories of the day's adventures over the soft glow of flames.

The camp's canvas mess tent provides a sense of authenticity when enjoying meals. The front is rolled up to invite nature into the dining area, affording guests an uninterrupted view of the sprawling plains. Dine inside or out; an awning provides shade from the morning and afternoon sun, while the soft dim of lanterns set a romantic tone when enjoying dinner under the night sky.
