Overview

Conceived to cater for vacationers who want to be able to do it all in a lush, tropical paradise, Kempinski Seychelles Resort is one of the most activity-packed hotels on Mahé Island. Angled to make the most of the jungle-covered crags above and the champagne-coloured beach of gorgeous Baie Lazare below, it is popular with destination wedding parties, love-struck honeymooners and multi-generational, fun-loving families.

Once you have choppered in from Seychelles International Airport, no day need be the same. Dive with graceful turtles to the magnificent coral reefs that teem with delicate warm-water creatures or kayak smoothly on the translucent, ultramarine surf. Sports fanatics will enjoy raising their pulses in the Olympic-length swimming pool that has been sensitively designed to blend in with the natural beauty that surrounds it; on the tennis, badminton and beach volleyball courts; cycling through the manicured emerald estate; or training in the ultra-modern, fully-equipped fitness centre. Children will delight in the Kids’ Club while holidaymakers who want lower-key pursuits can tinkle the ivories and have a game of pool or two in the laid-back Tidal Lounge, or solicit the soothing solace of the world-class spa. For those who are keen on a flutter, Casino Paradiso offers high-stakes, smoke-free excitement.

Kempinski Seychelles Resort also boasts two restaurants and two bars, not to mention a picture-perfect setting, which is the classic faraway-island combination of biscuit-hued sand, pastel-blue sky and dreamy turquoise water…

Rooms

Hill View Room

Rooms at Kempinski Seychelles Resort are comfortable and all are equipped with flat-screen satellite TVs, iPod docking stations, Internet access, king-sized or twin beds and mini fridges. Designed in restful, neutral tones, they are a perfect contrast to the brilliant greens and deep blues of the surrounding landscape.

Hill View rooms are on the ground level and overlook the lush tropical forest, impressive granite rock formations and gentle ebb-and-flow of the lagoon. They have a small lounge with a desk and en suite bathrooms with showers but no tubs.

Facilities

Kempinski Seychelles Resort is replete with all the guest facilities expected of an international vacation complex. Recreation is virtually guaranteed with equipment for diving, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, tennis, badminton, cycling, swimming and gymming on offer.

The Kids’ Club has its own secure wading pool where little ones can play safely in the shade under the watch eye of caring staff, and babysitting services are also available.

The spa offers seasonal relaxation therapies and beauty treatments, as well as a luxurious and intimate twin suite for couples. In the evenings, unwind in the sophisticated casino or choose a DVD from the Tidal Lounge’s extensive collection for a quiet night in.

Dining

Set among the resort’s verdant palm-filled gardens with dramatic beach views and open to the sultry weather, the restaurants serve up quick ‘n casual favourites or white-linen, fine dining gourmet treats. Café Lazare is an unfussy, all-day dining venue and the Kempinski’s main restaurant. Here, enjoy a buffet breakfast spread with both continental and English-style options. For lunch, there is a tantalising à la carte menu with pasta and rice dishes as well as lighter options like tasty sandwiches and good, old-fashioned burgers. Evening dining at Café Lazare comprises themed buffet dinners offering dishes from around the world: think fiery curries from India or tastes-like-more pizzas from Italy.

L’Indochine – serving delectable cuisine inspired by the Indian Ocean rim – is the resort’s first-rate dinner restaurant and a must-visit during your stay, especially for romantic special occasions or dinners á deux. For the ultimate-fantasy beach bar, head to The Windsong, which is situated right near the breaking surf.

When the lively band plays their special blend of Seychellois and contemporary rhythms, sway to the melody with the gentle sounds of the ocean in the background.

For chic cocktails and pre-dinner canapés, look no further than Planters Bar and Lounge. At the heart of Kempinski Seychelles Resort, it is always humming and a great place to swap back-slapping stories late into the night.
