Overview of Kitirua Plains Lodge, an A&K Sanctuary

Kenya, Amboseli National Park

Kitirua Plains Lodge lies within a private concession on the edge of Kenya's famed Amboseli National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes and one of the greatest elephant habitats in East Africa. With Mount Kilimanjaro rising in the distance and seasonally inundated plains stretching before you, you're enveloped in a spectacularly remote wilderness setting.

Inspired by the rugged beauty of the surrounding plains, the lodge features striking architecture that blends contemporary design with classic safari style, harmonising effortlessly with the natural environment. The lodge opens onto the plains, where wildlife saunters past the suites on its way to the nearby floodplains to cool off from the heat of the day. At the sound of heavy feet on dry grass, step onto your private deck to marvel at the closeness of zebras and wildebeest.

When you're not traversing the plains on expert-guided game drives, take flight in a hot-air balloon or helicopter, soaking in aerial views of endless hills and mountaintops. Enjoy cultural interactions with Maasai communities, meeting the formulators of the local designs and handcrafted furnishings that adorn the lodge. As a family-friendly retreat, there is a safari story for all ages—from wandering alongside warthogs to splashing in the pool with your loved ones.
