Overview of Loapi Camp

South Africa, Kalahari

Loapi Tented Camp is a new addition to the Tswalu safari camp portfolio. Designed with a pioneering and nomadic spirit in mind, Loapi comprises a handful of one- and two-bedroom under-canvas, self-contained homes. Each unit is surrounded by open savanna grasslands and comes with a dedicated private butler, chef, safari vehicle, guide and tracker, creating the ultimate private bubble for the guest seeking complete exclusivity and solitude.

The camp's safari homes can be found tucked away into the contours of a valley between the Korannaberg mountains, sitting at least 50 metres (165 feet) apart from each other. You'll enjoy the use of a spacious luxury suite, crafted from canvas, wood, glass and steel, that comes ready with an interactive kitchen, fully stocked pantry and bar, shaded decks, day beds, an eco-friendly plunge pool and firepit.

Outside of Loapi's safari homes, you can explore South Africa's largest private game reserve – Tswalu Kalahari Reserve. The area is home to a range of wildlife, including many rare and critically endangered species. Some of the animals you may get to see include oryx, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, lion, African wild dog, leopard, Cape buffalo, hyena and cheetah. Journey through this wildlife-rich region on classic game drives in a safari vehicle, on foot or on horseback.

Loapi features self-contained homes, set at least 50 metres (165 feet) apart from each other to ensure solitude and tranquillity. Also known as a safari home, each suite operates as an exclusive use minicamp. The sustainably designed and environmentally sensitive homes are crafted as contemporary glass and steel pavilions set under canvas. They are the perfect sanctuary that connect guests to the sights and sounds of nature, while simultaneously providing every modern comfort and convenience you would need.

Since each of Loapi's tents are self-contained homes, there are no communal or shared guest areas or services. However, each home comes with a fully equipped interactive kitchen, where a private chef will teach you a few cooking tricks. A private study is equipped with Wi-Fi for moments of quiet contemplation or catching up with friends and family back home. While the outdoor area has a daybed for relaxing while watching wildlife saunter by, a plunge pool for cooling off from the heat, and firepit to enjoy bonding with your loved ones over a crackling fire.
