In a secluded location on the southern Mozambican coastline, Machangulo Beach Lodge is set high up on a dune in a Private Nature Reserve on a peninsula, straddling the Indian Ocean on one side and the calm estuaries of Maputo Bay on the other. The lodge has a laid-back atmosphere, and is nestled on a hillside in dense evergreen thickets, overlooking endless ocean vistas. It is located around an hour’s boat ride from the capital Maputo, making it highly accessible, and can also be reached by road on a scenic 4x4 transfer from the Kruger.
A wide variety of activities can be enjoyed for all ages and skill levels: swimming, snorkel and SUP off the shore, explore the 1km long house reef or head out to the various dive sites, kayak the mangrove estuaries or try your hand at one of the world class catch-and-release fishing sites. On land walk kilometres of pristine beach, hike the dunes, visit the local village's beach bar or take a trip to the nearby islands.
