Set in the northern Masai Mara near Mara Plains Camp, its sister camp, Mara Expedition is an exclusive safari camp hidden away in riverine forest and overlooking wildlife-rich savannah. The camp is designed with traditional safari history in mind while incorporating modern day functionality and comfort. And by catering for only eight guests, Mara Expedition Camp offers a most personalised and intimate safari experience.

There is no set schedule at the camp: set out in your own time for a day's game viewing excursion into the Masai Mara or visit a local Maasai village to learn about their traditions and culture. You can also browse the shelves of the library tent or simply relax in the camp’s common areas and watch Africa go by.

Tent

Mara Expedition is a small camp with only four custom-designed safari tents that have indoor and outdoor living spaces. Inside your tent, high ceilings create the feeling of space while the decor creates the impression that the tents were intended for royalty. You will also find a separate dressing area from the bedroom along with a spacious en suite bathroom. Outside is your private veranda, a great place to sit back and absorb the beauty of the camp’s setting.

Relax between safari activities with a book from the library and make use of the complimentary laundry service, available on a daily basis.

Meals at Mara Expedition Camp are prepared from the freshest ingredients, sourced as locally as possible and served in the dining tent or under the starry sky.

On request, picnic lunches can be organised to maximise your time on safari – perfect if you want to spend all day out on a game drive or enjoy a late morning start.
