Overview of Mila Tented Camp

Tanzania, Serengeti

Mila Tented Camp occupies a prime, game-rich position in the western corridor of the Serengeti in Tanzania. The camp is surrounded by acacia trees, massive granite boulders and five natural springs that flow into the camp, attracting wildlife to drink throughout the day. It is also possible to witness the traditional migration of animals to different watering holes and grazing grounds from the privacy of your own tented suite. The Serengeti is the scene of mass wildebeest calving during the beginning of the year, along with plenty of predator action.

Due to its stunning position at the top of a granite ridge, Mila Tented Camp has breath-taking views of the springs, the surrounding woodland landscape and the Serengeti. Each of the eight tented suites is fitted with a king-sized or twin beds, and has a private en suite bathroom and veranda. The tent walls are opened during the day to allow for game viewing and birding from the comfort of your plush bed.

Each tent has its own dedicated safari guide and game-viewing vehicle to enhance the sense of privacy visitors feel upon visiting Mila Tented Camp. Evoking the safari ambience of Africa past, Mila Tented Camp uses gas lamps for light at the bush dinner and around the tents at night. You have access to all the facilities at nearby Mila Lodge, including the spa.

Tent

The tented suites are roomy with king-sized or twin beds and in-room Wi-Fi. They each have a large en suite bathroom with a bathtub as well as a shower and twin vanities. Each bed has mosquito netting as well as a private veranda to take in the view.rnrnThe tents are spacious and, on request, a third bed can be added for a child of 15 or younger. Cots are available for children under two.

General Facilities

You have access to all of the facilities at nearby Mila Lodge, including the spa. A swimming pool provides you with the opportunity to cool down on hot summer afternoons between October and April. Transfers to the lodge and airstrip can be arranged.

After a day of walking in the bush or game viewing in the 4×4, dinner next to the campfire and under the stars is a definite highlight. The food is delicious, locally sourced and fresh. Breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as tea and drinks are offered in lovely locations in the reserve. Private dinners can also be arranged on request, with fine wines and imported liqueurs available as well.
