Mweya Safari Lodge
Mweya Safari Lodge is located deep in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s premier big game destination. Set on a peninsula above the wide Kazinga Channel and surrounded by the Rwenzori Mountains – known as the ‘Mountains of the Moon’ – the wood and thatch safari-style lodge offers magnificent views from all its rooms and cottages.
Guests set off on morning and afternoon/evening game drives in open vehicles in search of a wide variety of animals – key species include buffalo, elephant, hippopotamus and lion. Moreover, many animals and a huge range of birds can be seen as you glide over the waters of the Kazinga Channel in specially equipped game viewing boats, a real highlight of the area. You can also go in search of chimpanzees in the forested Kyambura Gorge or view extinct volcano craters.

Meals at Mweya Safari Lodge can be served in the formal dining room, but the views from the veranda dining area cannot be beaten. The food is a combination of international cuisine and local specialities; the barbecue and traditional dancing on Saturday nights creates a memorable evening.
Relax after a day of game viewing at the Tembo Bar and watch the sunset over Lake Edward and the Kazinga Channel from the bar's veranda. The Poolside Bar also serves refreshments around the swimming pool.
A hotel style lodge offering amazing views and a wide range of activities. Being one of the only properties within Queen Elizabeth National Park you can take advantage of both land and water game viewing activities. The boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel was one of my highlights.

Staying in a private cottage turned into an upgrade to the presidential cottage: nice surprise and very comfortable. Personnel very friendly and helpful. Cruise on the brand new luxury ponton boat with drinks and canapes was one of the highlights of the Uganda experience. Viewing the rich wildlife and birds from the water was unforgettable:
Lodge was excellent in all regards. The staff went out of their way to make our stay fantastic, and were also very friendly and attentive. The variety of the food and the meal choices were comparable to those found in very fine restaurants. Mweya’s location, overlooking the Kazinga Channel, was superb; the rooms were very comfortable.
Good view with a room overlooking the canal. More like a hotel with excellent food and good service.
