Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

Despite initial concerns about it being outdated, we were absolutely blown away. The lodge had undergone beautiful upgrades, and the rooms were not only comfortable but offered a breath taking view of the crater. The food was outstanding, the staff incredibly accommodating, and even the packed lunches were delicious. We loved the dance presentations put on by the Maasai tribe before dinners in the evenings. We would stay here again in a minute. It was a perfect choice!

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge – After lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, we headed to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. When we entered the crater rim it was dirt narrow roads with trees all around. And then there was a clearing which gave us our first glimpse of the crater. It was spectacular! We arrived at the lodge and again the views were amazing! Our first room had a tree blocking our view but thankfully the place was not full so they moved us to a room with an unobstructed view. The view at night with a full moon was amazing and at sunrise it was even more gorgeous. The rooms were clean and nice. The décor was very safari theme and would not be our choice of style but we are not complaining because it was very clean and had a wonderful view. We would stay here again for the cleanliness and view alone. The surrounding property was also very nice and clean. You were right on the food, the salads were very fresh and the food was very good!

Ngorongoro just amazing and to us the best – we saw the Big 5 in no time at all and the bottom of the crater is just so diverse. We had an afternoon storm come through and you could smell the rain wetting the dry soils. It was so intense. Top spot and lodge our favourite as well.

Highly recommended for epic and simply spectacular views over the Crater complemented by comfortable rooms and friendly service.

The Serena at Ngorongoro Crater was quite nice.

Really nice. They were beyond our expectations. We have very nice memories from our trip and many fun anecdotes. Ngorongoro for the lions. It was a dream come true.

We also loved the accomodations. They were beautiful, both the lodges themselves and the locations.

Ngorongoro Serena was a large place also but the position over looking the crater made up for the size. Staff were friendly & food & service good.

I thought their rooms, food, service and entertainment were just the right touch to introduce us to Africa.

Our highlight of the 2 counties visited was Tanzania, where we found the people very welcoming and the scenery hard to match. We had an excellent travel guide who provided both insight into all aspects of Tanzania from it’s people, culture, animal and plant life. We felt very secure in his ability to move us safely from one area to the next. Accommodations where better than expected. We especially enjoyed Ngorongoro Crater.
