The lodge has stunning views over the wetland pan and offers numerous game viewing activities such as guided game drives and nature walks as well as exciting rhino tracking excursions. Other activities include exploring the teeming waterways on canoe and motorboat cruises.

Phinda Forest Lodge has 16 air-conditioned glass chalets, raised on stilts and set among forest trees. The luxurious chalets’ classic Japanese minimalist architecture enhances the tranquility of the forest setting, and the overall effect is absolute privacy. Small buck like nyala and shy duiker can occasionally be seen nibbling leaves in camp.rnrnEach spacious chalet comprises a bedroom, lounge and en suite bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Suites also offer a wooden deck from which to enjoy the wrap-around forest views.

General Facilities

Phinda Forest Lodge offers its guests excellent facilities to ensure a comfortable and indulgent stay.

The main lodge sits in an ideal position to enjoy the great views – the central dining area, lounge and swimming pool overlook the wetland pan and offer a great place to spend an afternoon sitting back and relaxing as you watch wildlife come and go.

The lodge offers a compact and ingenious ‘Gym in a Bag’ for those who want to knock off a workout or two in the privacy of their own rooms or decks. A business centre is also available.

    The one word that would describe this last trip is – Fabulous! South Africa is so addictive. This was meant to be my ‘boring’ relaxing, laid back, budget trip, but it turned out to be completely different. Phinda was fabulous, and once again I had a great time.

    We had the most unbelievable time. Both Phinda Forest and Vlei were completely out of this world and we truly felt we were ‘out of Africa” on an amazing adventure. We met some wonderful people and the staff were fantastic. We saw everything apart from leopard and even saw 2 female lions kill a kudu and feast upon it.
