Rivertrees Country Inn
Once an old coffee farm in the foothills of Mount Meru, Rivertrees Country Inn is a charming country estate nestled in a tranquil forest and garden setting on the banks of the Usa River in northern Tanzania. Located just under an hour's drive from both Arusha and Kilimanjaro International Airports, it is a soothing retreat before or after a safari.
Rivertrees Country Inn looks out towards Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, and is conveniently situated in the heart of northern Tanzania's popular safari circuit. Depending on how much time you have here, you can explore Arusha National Park on foot or by game-drive vehicle. You can also discover the little-known gem that is Lake Duluti Forest Reserve – its lake is a crater surrounded by lush indigenous forest. Spend an afternoon canoeing over its serene water, soaking in the tremendous birdlife and extraordinary views of Mount Meru.
If you do not feel like leaving the peaceful estate, you can relax next to the swimming pool or enjoy a stroll down the enchanting pathways through the surrounding forest to spot and identify the area's phenomenal birdlife. Enjoy the Usa River's natural charm and pause at the many scenic spots along the way.
Authentic cottages are set alongside the river, surrounded by lush lawns and river trees – a magnificent sanctuary for the resident birdlife, as well as colobus and blue monkeys. Rivertrees prides itself on offering splendid service and attention to detail, and providing guests with down-to-earth comfort that invokes a warm sense of feeling at home.

'A charming inn located in lush green gardens close to Arusha National park. This is a great option for a pre- or post-safari overnight stay in Arusha. I would recommend adding on a night to recover from the long flights to Africa - spend the day exploring and later return to cosy Rivertrees for dinner before setting off on your adventure.'

A stunning retreat! The lush, tranquil grounds were an absolute paradise, and we only wished we had two nights here to soak it all in.
We loved our room, the Usa River, the breakfast buffet and everything about Rivertrees.
We stayed in special accommodation which was a huge two-bedroom house. Absolutely beautiful!
