Royal Zambezi Lodge

Overview of Royal Zambezi Lodge

Zambia, Lower Zambezi

The Royal Zambezi is an award-winning but unpretentious lodge located on the banks of the Zambezi River in a private concession opposite the world-famous Mana Pools World Heritage site in Zambia.

From the moment you are collected by their private Royal Air charter plane for your flight to the lodge, you will be immersed in a world of both adventure and pampering, while still being close to the pulse of the wilderness. With a host of exciting activities to choose from, you are guaranteed an exceptional experience: thrilling big-game encounters vie with canoeing the pristine waters teeming with hippos and crocodiles or hiking the surrounding mountains. Once you have had your fill of adventure, the Royal Bush Spa – Zambia's first ‘bush spa' – offers the perfect retreat to revitalise your body and senses. Or you could honour the lodge's well-worn tradition of DNA – that's, ‘Do nothing at all'.

With a selection of only 15 secluded suites and customised family units, the Royal Zambezi is ideal as a honeymoon destination or as a unique family getaway, where the combination of luxurious surroundings and a stunning riverside location will capture your imagination.

A tastefully decorated lounge and dining area lead out to an expanse of wooden decking that hangs over the water with steps leading down to a jetty. The verandah leads to the bar below the spreading boughs of a mature and shady sausage tree, and beyond is a secluded pool deck with umbrellas and sun loungers overlooking the river.

The Royal Zambezi Bush Spa is positioned around a central courtyard, where two treatment rooms offer a tranquil retreat to nourish your senses. The plunge pool, Jacuzzi and lounge alongside provide the perfect place to relax and drink in the splendid view.
