Overview

The Serengeti Migration Camp is hidden amongst rocky outcrops in the northern part of the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is rich in game throughout the year and provides the stage for the world's largest animal migration, when up to 2 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle make their way north into Kenya's Masai Mara.

You can explore this spectacular area on game drives in specially designed 4x4 vehicles, and on bush walks conducted by armed, highly trained and knowledgeable guides. Between game viewing activities you can take a refreshing dip in the pool and enjoy a sundowner on the deck.

The split level lounge, cigar bar, restaurant, sundecks and swimming pool are perched among the outcrops and overlook the vast and rugged landscape. The rooms are spacious enough to accommodate an extra bed for a child and high chairs and cots are also available, making Serengeti Migration Camp well equipped for families with children.

Serengeti Migration Camp

One really sees how remote Serengeti Migration Camp is while landing on a strip of dirt in the middle of absolutely nowhere! It was an incredible experience to see this part of Africa. Each room of Serengeti Migration Camp is an independent elevated lodge with canvas sides and a wrap-around porch. Our lodge was located right along the Grumeti River where 80 hippos live. We could hear the hippos grunting during the night as they grazed right outside our room! The rooms were once again complete luxury. We loved every aspect of them! Our day exploring the Serengeti was magnificent! We felt like true explorers. Our guide, Alex, and our fellow travelers’ guide Moses kept in contact with one another as we scanned the area looking for animals. We saw so many different types of animals, it was hard to keep track! We came across a pride of 26 lions, which was phenomenal. Alex asked what else we’d like to see. We told him we’d love to see a leopard and a cheetah. I didn’t have much hope, but Alex and Moses came through! We saw one of each. Wow! That night we had a beautiful dinner by the river with lanterns hanging from the trees. There was a guard watching for hippos while we ate. It was exciting and beautiful at the same time. The next morning Alex took us for a walk along the river to see the hippos. He was very informative as he educated us about the hippos and other animals. We loved how he taught us about the habits of animals during our time with him.
