Overview of Sonop Lodge
With designs that echo those of the safari camps of the 1920s, guests arriving at Sonop Lodge are transported back to the age of the great explorers. The richly layered décor of this luxurious tented camp is juxtaposed by the stark landscapes of the Namib Desert, giving this lodge a truly opulent atmosphere.
Constructed atop timber platforms perched on a boulder-strewn hill, the lodge offers stunning panoramic views of the desert, allowing guests to enjoy its genuine beauty from every angle. An extensive list of activities, including game drives, hikes and horseback safaris, provide further opportunity to take in everything the desert has to offer. Unlock the secrets of the night sky during a stargazing safari, before watching a film in the lodge’s open-air cinema.
Set on a 5 600-hectare private reserve, Sonop is the perfect base from which to explore this unexpectedly vibrant landscape. Spot oryx, kudu, brown hyena, rabbit, fox, jackal and leopard on the daily sunrise game drives, before taking a drive to the majestic dunes around Sossusvlei. Whether you are a safari first-timer or well-travelled adventurer, this luxurious lodge promises to delight.
