Located in Tanzania’s intriguing Tarangire National Park, Tarangire Ndovu Camp offers a traditional tented safari experience along the famous northern safari circuit. The park is best known for its large elephant herds and rare tree-climbing lions, and game viewing becomes second-to-none in the dry season (about June to October) when wildlife flock to the Tarangire River for water. Look out for unusual savannah specialists that are endemic to the area such as the long-necked gerenuk, as well as other iconic wildlife like buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, antelope and zebra.
As one of Tanzania’s lesser-known reserves, you will enjoy crowd-free game viewing and can truly get to grips with the great vastness of Africa, its peace and its tranquillity. The golden plains of Tarangire are punctuated with open woodlands, dense riverine forests (ideal coverage for leopards) and a high density of Africa’s most iconic tree, the baobab. Ndovu is a mobile camp allowing you to experience the best that Tarangire has to offer at various locations throughout the year, and its mobile nature means a lighter footprint on the environment as well as an authentic and down-to-earth experience.
