The Manor at Ngorongoro

The accommodations at the Manor were splendid. It felt like we were English royalty with all the grandeur. Altus(manager), Baraka(butler) and Andrew (game drives) made our stay perfect – including a surprise romantic dinner!

The Manor at Ngorongoro was a real treat, and they did a special dinner for us downstairs that was unexpected. I had seen pictures of it done for others but it was unexpected and so nice.

Our flight took us to the Manor at Ngorongoro. It is a beautiful Dutch colonial-style manor situated in a coffee plantation.The service is impeccable. What a gorgeous place to stay. I loved all of the antique furnishings. The food was wonderful and the staff was amazing. We will never forget the tremendously kind Sharif, our butler. He went above and beyond every step of the way. We had a fabulous game drive in the Crater at Ngorongoro. There were a lot of jeeps, but the concentration of animals was fantastic. We were able to see too many species to include: black rhinos, lions, cape buffalo, zebras, elephants, hippos, hyenas, and more. Upon our return, we were welcomed by a luxurious bath with bubbles and rose petals. The tea and the bar at the main manor house were lovely. On our second morning, we elected not to go on one of the excursions (to Lake Manyara) as we were tired and wanted to enjoy the luxurious manor. Sharif brought us a beautiful breakfast by the pool. Later before leaving the manor, Sharif arranged for an incredible lunch out on the lawn under a tree. He even brought out the elegant upholstered chairs and a table from the dining room. We were speechless. We didn't want to leave!

Well, if anything, this place was over-the-top luxury and service that we will never see again.

The Manor at Ngorongoro was a stunning surprise. Our guide, Adam, couldn’t have been more attentive and informative. And when he pulled out the jeep’s awning and set up our table for lunch inside the Crater, he blew us away. All the other jeep passengers had boxed lunches and were eating inside.

Wow! What a beautiful place! We loved the old historic main home and the smaller matching buildings housing the little apartments! The grounds were beautiful and everything about the place was immaculate. We loved the African/European blend of furnishings! We took the coffee plantation tour and actually learned a lot about the coffee growing process. It was fun to try the freshly roasted coffee too! The staff here is so friendly and accommodating! Every meal was beautiful, and delicious ! Our day at the crater was totally amazing! The immensity of the crater was breathtaking, and the pink sea of Lesser Flamingos was so beautiful! A “to the death” chase of hyenas vs. Zebras began right in front of our vehicle…..and we opted to watch the chase from a distance then went over to see the pile of hyenas fighting over what was left…..which wasn’t much. Real life. The day was perfect with a delish picnic lunch by the lake!

We then moved on to the Manor and this was a gorgeous spot the rooms are unbelievable and so are the rooms in the homestead. Food was fantastic. While we were out on a drive they radio ahead and advise we are on our way back and the butler has the bath full of hot water with petals on top. We toured the crater and just as we were heading home a lion decided to have a rest in the shade of our jeep so we stayed for a while then he decides to wander along the side of us while we are slowly driving along, fantastic and got it all on video. Didn’t want to leave here.

The kid’s (and us) absolutely loved the Manor. They felt like princesses there and even got to go horseback riding. It was a VERY luxurious end to a vacation. The Crater it beautiful but the animals were very disappointing after what we’d seen at the other 3 locations. But you can’t go to that part of the world without going to the Crater….. it was beautiful landscape. The hotel was definitely the highlight at that location.

The Manor at Ngorongoro Lodge was amazing.

We loved every minute of it. Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Serengeti and our stays at the Treetops, the Manor (unbelievable place, we were speechless!)

Manor at Ngorongoro (they prepared special private dinner for us) and Escarpment Manyara Lodge (they were really caring about us after we got wet under rain during night safari). As I said before we felt special attention for us in each of the hotel we stayed and we enjoyed and appreciated it! The safaris were unforgettable. We saw a lot of animals even rhinos and leopard and also lion on a tree and giraffes fighting! We took thousands pictures every day!!

When we got there it took our breath away. It was in the top two of properties from the trip, including Escarpment Lodge. The property was amazing with horse stables, a wonderful pool, and open areas everywhere. Set on a coffee plantation, the views were amazing. The property had a wine cellar, a billiard room, a movie room, a bar room, and outdoor areas to sit and eat. Our room was fantastic. There was a bottle of champagne waiting for us, and our laundry was taken and done for us that night.

This is very luxurious. They had hot water bottles in the beds! We all enjoyed the pool and a massage after quite a long drive (1 1/2 hours) to the rim of the Crater. We had a good vehicle which had pop-up roof and big windows.

Your selection of accommodations was fantastic and each one had their own unique characteristics that we will always remember. At the Manor, we were amazed at the opulence; The service at all of these places was excellent: it was genuine and it seemed as though the people were very happy to have us as guests. The food at all of these places was first class!
