The Kariega Game Reserve is situated in the Eastern Cape, spanning over 10,000 hectares of malaria-free wilderness. Here, you'll experience close encounters with South Africa's famous Big 5, including spotting lions as they slink along the savannah plains stalking their prey, or witnessing herds of elephants congregating around precious water sources. Kariega invites you to fully immerse yourself in diverse African ecosystems, which you can explore on foot, in a game vehicle, or cruising along the river.

Ukhozi Lodge captures the romantic atmosphere and allure of the African wilderness with stylish suites nestled amidst thickets of bush, connecting you to the main lodge by stone walkways. The lodge blends seamlessly into the landscape with its stone and wood architecture while glass fittings preserve unobstructed views. Inhale the breathtaking vistas as you gather around the fire pit, with the soft chirp of cicadas and the rustle of nocturnal creatures traversing trees and navigating the bush.

Luxury Suite

The Luxury Suites at Ukhozi exude an atmosphere of luxurious seclusion with elegant furnishings amidst a soothing colour palette of blues and yellows. Each suite includes a well-stocked tea and coffee station, hanging space for your clothes, a stylish desk area, and a cosy lounge facing large bay windows. 

A private deck is complemented by a plunge pool, perfect for a cooling afternoon dip. The spacious en-suite bathroom boasts double vanities, a glorious walk-in shower for a revitalising cleanse, and a tub for a relaxing soak. Your king-sized bed promises a blissful night’s rest with soft sheets and plush pillows. Air-conditioning and heating keep the temperature regulated to your preference. An extra bed can be provided for an additional charge to accommodate families with children.

General Facilities

Kariega Ukhozi Lodge invites you to leave the stresses of modern life at the door. Escape to the rim-flow pool, connected to the main lodge by a walkway, where you can unwind in solitude. You'll be surrounded by the stillness of the thick Kariega bush, sunbathing between refreshing dips. A cosy bar with a viewing deck offers the perfect setting for a nightcap and stargazing under a clear night sky, unmarred by light pollution. 

The lodge is conveniently located near the Kariega Wellness Centre, where you can book a variety of spa treatments, including soothing massages and hydrating facials, as well as enjoy access to a fully equipped gym. Wi-Fi is available should you wish to stay connected, and laundry services will ensure your clothes are clean for the next day.
