Set out on a fly-in safari adventure through East Africa's iconic wilderness, from Kenya's sweeping savannahs to Rwanda's forested mountains. Explore the floodplains at Mount Kilimanjaro's foothills in a private Amboseli concession, then head to Kenya's famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Here, you'll experience thrilling Big Five game drives with the possibility of witnessing the seasonal Great Migration—where astonishing numbers of wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara in vast herds.
Next, you'll journey to the higher-altitude Virunga Mountains, where a misty backdrop creates an atmosphere of mystery, perfect for gorilla trekking and golden monkey encounters. Throughout the tour, you'll stay in classic safari lodgings with a touch of modern elegance, enjoying personalised services that cater to your dining preferences and spa treatments that elevate your experience.
This tour is ideal for wildlife enthusiasts looking to escape the daily grind, with two- and three-night stays at animal-rich reserves, thriving elephant populations, seasonal wildebeest migrations, and primates in their natural habitats. Short layovers in Nairobi and Kigali allow you to visit the world's only urban wildlife reserve and taste authentic Rwandan coffee.
When you book this safari Go2Africa will donate $5 to the Wildlife Tourism College of Maasai Mara to support the annual sponsorship of two students.

Tortilis Camp in Amboseli was absolutely phenomenal. They greeted us with open arms upon our arrival and that really made us feel like we were at home. The food was absolutely incredible as were the people tending to us. Our safari guide's name was Jackson and he was amazingly knowledgeable and very easy to talk with and had an answer to all our questions. We loved all the surprises they had in store for us. From the bush breakfast to the sundown set up on top of a mountain on our last day and the visit to the Masai Tribe. I would go back to that camp in a heart beat.
The next day, you'll be transferred to Wilson Airport, where a light aircraft will fly you to the Tortilis Camp airstrip, situated on a private concession bordering Amboseli National Park. This intimate lodge is perched along a serene hillside, shaded by a forest of Acacia tortilis—the camp’s namesake. This iconic tree, with its remarkable umbrella shape, has become synonymous with the African savannah.
Once you've unpacked and settled in, enjoy a buffet-style lunch on the deck before heading out for a late afternoon game drive. A leisurely exploration of the reserve culminates in sundowners, taking in majestic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, as the final glows of sunlight melt against the peak. Alongside game drives, the camp offers not-to-be-missed guided nature walks, including dedicated birding excursions in the wetlands.
On your final day, start with a delicious bush breakfast, set in a nearby clearing surrounded by wilderness, before you head out to visit the Amboseli Elephant Research Centre. This is a highlight of your stay, inviting you to learn more about the conservation efforts supporting the park's well-studied and thriving elephant population.

Virunga was the most luxurious, as you might guess from the price. The location is great. Rooms are huge. Views are great at the very top of a hill, with lakes and mountains all around, though it tends to stay cloudy pretty much all the time. Service is very attentive. And they were nice enough to let us stay till 6 pm, as our flight left Kigali after midnight.
The next day, a private road transfer will take you to Virunga Lodge for the final stretch of your East African holiday, where you’ll be surrounded by a patchwork of farmland and perched above volcanic lakes in Volcanoes National Park.
On your first full day, lace up your hiking boots for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience. You’ll traverse the steep slopes of bamboo forests before finally encountering a family of primates. Spend an hour observing these fascinating creatures, with opportunities to capture heartwarming moments between mother gorillas and their babies. Later, enjoy an experiential sundowner, engaging with conservationists and exploring the public exhibits at the centre.
The following day, return to the forest to meet a lively troop of golden monkeys. Watch as hundreds of these diminutive primates leap through the trees, nibbling on leaves and berries. Throughout your stay, a complimentary 30-minute massage offers a welcome reprieve for your muscles after two days of trekking.
