I’ve had the privilege of being with Go2Africa for over a decade and, in that time, I’ve visited some truly amazing places, met extraordinary people, and helped make countless dreams come true. Travel has always been my passion, and there’s no better place to start than Africa. There are still so many destinations I want to explore and I can’t wait to uncover more of this beautiful continent.
One of my most unforgettable safari moments happened on our last evening in the bush in Botswana. We had stopped for a drink as the sun was setting and on one side there was a pod of hippos and, on the other, a herd of elephants walking into the sunset. The sight of these majestic animals in their natural habitat was breathtaking and the serene silence was a rare and precious gift—something we rarely experience in the city.
Planning a private elephant visit for my clients at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was one of the highlights of my career. They had waited two years for this experience and seeing their joy and awe made it all worthwhile. It was truly a magical moment for everyone involved.
For an intimate and immersive experience of the bush, I highly recommend a walking safari. It’s a fantastic way to notice the smaller details that you might miss on a game drive. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as you might need to trek through tall grass.
