I felt that Mount Nelson offers great value for money. I was amazed by the wonderful staff and managers, who were very willing to help. The food and service were great, and I must mention that Patrick, the sales manager, is an excellent host.
Staying in the Nellie was more than staying in a historic landmark, it was traveling back in time yet enjoying modern conveniences. The tea was wonderful as was the staff. We had a corner room facing Table Mountain. Your advice not to stay at the water or the wharf was on point and we are not shoppers. When we departed, we received embroidered bags with our initials.
The Nellie is truly “The Star of Cape Town” in my opinion. As you walk through the main entrance, you are greeted with warm & friendly smiles of the front office staff.
The hotel itself has really come a long way in terms of décor, now having a touch of a more modern style yet still staying true to its shipping roots. Breakfast was amazing, food and service were excellent while enjoying some much-awaited sunshine overlooking the warm pool. The hotel boasts great views of Table Mountain and the tranquil Gardens on the hotel premises make it perfect for those wanting rest & relaxation, before or after safari! A must-see hotel for sure!
“The Pink Dame of Cape Town” is a tranquil oasis boasting 5-star opulence. Situated in a beautiful garden estate just outside of the city centre beneath Table Mountain. Each of the Mount Nelson’s accommodation wings has its own character, with private gardens and an adults-only wing with its own pool. The Hotel is also home to the famous afternoon high tea on the beautiful terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens. The comforts on hand in the hotel are endless, from heated swimming pools to an upmarket boutique, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, activity centres for children, and a beautiful spa.
