Overview

Jaci's Safari Lodge is a privately owned lodge situated in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. The lodge is built under a grove of tamboti trees on the edge of the Marico River.

Between early morning and evening game drives, relax in the spacious lounge area or beside the swimming pool which offers excellent views of the river or venture down to the Terrapin Hide to photograph these and other creatures going about their lives.

Basking under a very temperate climate, Jaci's Safari Lodge offers two enticing outdoor activities: you can work off the delicious meals in the open-air gym and then full asleep on one of the romantic starbeds, the star-scattered night sky shimmering above you.

This is a fantastic lodge for those travelling with children, and the Nare and Safari Suites are ideal for families or small groups.

Rooms

Safari Suite

The Safari Suite is ideal for families who desire an intimate bush experience, and can sleep up to four adults and four children.

Nare Suite

For something more private, the Nare Suite is an exclusive bush retreat, named after the buffalo bull that frequents the waterhole in front of the suite. The suite accommodates up to six guests with an upstairs loft complete with its own toilet - perfect for children.

The suite also features a wooden viewing deck overlooking the waterhole, private swimming pool, exclusive-use bush vehicle and professional guide. Another impressive feature is that the suite's lounge and dining area has a self-contained kitchen, where lodge chefs can prepare meals for you in privacy.

Facilities

Jaci's Safari Lodge has plenty to keep you entertained when not out on game drives in Madikwe Game Reserve. At the main lodge, you're able to enjoy a swimming pool, outdoor gym, spacious lounge, bar, a glorious copper fireplace and the Tlou Deck that overlooks a wildlife-frequented watering hole. The kids' are kept entertained with a children's' play area that offers indoor and outdoor activities.

The true highlight of Jaci's Safari Lodge is the Terrapin Hide. Here, you'll get the opportunity to snap a few up-close pictures of the animals that come to drink from the nearby watering hole.

Dining

Fantastic meals are prepared using fresh seasonal produce and meats. The modern kitchen is open-plan, so meals are prepared in full view of the dining area. Enjoy delicious breakfast, lunch and high tea in the afternoon.

Dinners are eaten outside around an open fire in the boma area. You may also choose to eat under the stars, in the bush, surrounded by nature. Meal schedules are flexible and can be arranged to accommodate your game drives.

Both the Nare and Safari Suite have a self-contained kitchen, where chefs prepare meals for you to enjoy in the luxury of your own retreat, either in the lounge or on the outdoor dining area.

"Jaci's Lodge, We were very pleased with both our accommodation and the staff at Jaci's. We had an amazing guide and the meals were delicious. Our kids went on all the drives with us.The Nare suite was lovely and really almost perfect for us."

Jaci's Lodge – Welcome – excellent, all staff introduced themselves and were genuinely welcoming, felt as if we were joining a house party. Accommodation – amazing, warm and comfortable, a lot of attention to detail (first aid box in bathroom), hot w ater bottles and heated blanket were turned on for us each night. Saw plenty of wild life right from the veranda. Lodge – loved sitting around the camp fire chatting to other guests. Food – plentiful of high standard and well presented and served, enjoyed the variety of eating environments especially the outdoors ones. Ranger / Game drives – plenty of information, organised a day drive for us- lunch in the bush quite an experience, saw wide variety of animals and birds, our daughters were kept interested and involved. Blankets supplied for warmth. Absolute gem of a place would love to return.

"The highlight of the trip was, of course, Jaci's Lodge. It was the place where we fell in love with Africa once and for all! We couldn't wish for a better place to discover the wilderness and magnificence it has to offer!"

Jaci's was of course the highlight of the trip. We saw plenty of animals and one time were surrounded by about 50 elephants of all sizes, but the leopard remained elusive. We were very happy with Jaci's and all the staff. They were consistently great with the service from the minute we arrive to the time we left. Not a single negative thing to say really except that one of the monkeys got into our tent and in absence of food, stole Matthew's berry flavored toothpaste. Poor guys!

We had a really great time and didnt want to come home. Jaci's was a lovely lodge - we have only done safaris in Kenya before so we weren't to sure what to expect - but it was really child fiendly. We had a driver called Olly who was superb - my son loved him and he was fantastic at locating the animals. Food at Jaci's was also great and we could not fault the staff - please pass on my thanks
